I was skeptical about buying this album because I was unimpressed when sampling the tracks of their debut, self-titled album. However, they stepped up their game with Welcome to the Dollhouse!
Bad Girl, Pretty Boy, Sucka for Love, Ecstasy, 2 of You, Light Outs and Poetry are on repeat whenever this CD goes in to my stereo. They've got to be one of the best groups out there, if they would just be promoted better! This being said, Strip Tease, Damaged, Key to my Heart etc. are not to be missed out! It's a very catchy and, for Diddy, very impressive [:P] And I'm really happy I bought it. If you're stuck and not sure if it's worth your money, I'll make it simple...it is. I just hope the girls don't split up :( Need more Danity Kane!
Good good

Danity Kane This cd is lovely. But right now they are in trouble. I hope they can solve this soon, at least I expect 4 of them to come back. And for the one who left. It was the best she could do. She doesn't match in this group. Ones more a very lovely CD
Underrated Gem

Danity Kane does not get the respect they deserve due to them being spawned from a reality show. However, on their sophmore album, they stepped it up quite a bit from their debut. Each member has adequate room to stretch their vocal performance and the beats are amazing. I absolutely love this album. I think the best tracks are: Damaged, Strip Tease, Sucka for Love, Lights Out, and Is Anybody Listening." I highly reccomend this album for R&B lovers and fans of bubblegum, care free fun pop music.
One of 2008's best albums

Before 2008, I was never a fan of Danity Kane. I heard "Showstopper" and thought it was rubbish (I adore it now). So I ignored DK, until for some reason my curiosity got the better of me and I had to check out Welcome To The Dollhouse, purely because it had a fascinating title.

And I was pleased to find it's an excellent album. After hearing it, I acquired their first self titled album as well, and I like that too.

Welcome To The Dollhouse is one of 2008's best releases, and I'm not even a huge fan of R&B or hip hop. There's just something about Danity Kane, they mix it with some pop to keep me interested.

The standout track on WTTD for me is the album's lead single "Damaged." This song wasn't an instant favourite however, I actually didn't like it at all on the first couple of listens. But somehow, it majorly grew on me, to the point that it's now my favourite on the album! This track is sooooo hot! I love the lyrics and the whole idea of the song and the vocals are incredibly strong. Surprisingly, Diddy's little cameo doesn't ruin the song at all. I love this song.

"Poetry" is definitely the second best song on the album, and it's also the best ballad on the CD. This song is just beautiful and the girls sound phenomonal. This song has a sad theme to it, about a bad relationship. The whole song is just gorgeous, I adore it.

"Sucka For Love" is another standout, despite being only 2:56. This track is incredibly sexy, and is about being addicted to love. I just love the chorus of this one, it's deliciously catchy.

"Bad Girl" features Missy Elliott, and it seems whenever Missy features on a song she strikes gold (see The Pussycat Dolls' "Whatcha Think About That" for another great Missy appearance). She doesn't take over this track and lets the girls shine. This song is really awesome because it's a multi layered song - it has so many elements to it. The whole song is incredibly different right the way through - I love the "from a caterpillar to a butterfly" bit the most.

"Strip Tease" is a sexy little track, obviously about sex. But it's done tastefully - I love the lyrics in this song. The girls' voices are low and sensual too, it's a really good touch.

"Key To My Heart" is the album's shortest song, at only 2:30 but it fits a lot in. A touching track about a relationship, this features some very good harmonising and vocals from the girls.

"Is Anybody Listening" is incredibly similar to "Key To My Heart" but it's not a complete clone. It's pretty good too, but I think the previous track is a bit better.

"Pretty Boy," "2 Of You" and "Lights Out" are all good tracks too, all up beat. "Ecstasy" I'm not such a huge fan of due to the rapper (Rick Ross) featuring on it, cos he kinda ruins the song. The interludes are pretty cool too, I especially like the one that preludes "Poetry" titled "Flashback" - it's really gorgeous.

I also love "Ain't Going" which is the "hidden" or bonus track. It's sung with Day26, the other Making The Band group. DK aren't on this song much, Day26 outsing them, but for some reason I really love it.

Overall, this is an incredibly strong album and definitely one of 2008's best releases. I love Danity Kane and I hope to hear more from them in the future. 5 stars.
