Reaching Back with the Buckinghams Submitted on: 2009-08-29 |

| I have always been a fan of the Buckinghams and have followed them through the years always hoping for more music. The solo efforts in the 70's are still some of my favorite albums as well as their 1998 release "Terra Firma". Although it is missing one key member, Dennis Tufano, the album is a mix of new and old songs with the feel like they have never stopped recording. I love it. If you are an old fan of the Buckinghams or new, you will enjoy the music. You can't go wrong with this album, I look forward to more music from these guys. |

| I agree with everyone that this album sounds great. My only complaint are the remakes of the old songs tacked on the end. You Misunderstand Me was a B side of the original band and would have been enough of a nod to their past. Five more songs instead of 5 remakes would have been much better, even tho these versions of the old songs are fine, (Susan is kinda short) more new songs would have been more appreciated. We get 8 new songs, 1 instrumental prelude, 6 remakes. Its only have an album in my book. Don't get me wrong, I loved the Buckinghams and have all their records and cds, I even got out Terra Firma and played it for the second time, and this is much more reminiscent of the old band's style, and this band has been together 4 or 5 times longer than the original band were. It still got 5 stars even tho 4.5 would have been more like it. |

A Bit of Yesterday Submitted on: 2008-10-04 |

| I really enjoy this new cd.The band is sounding like the old Buckinghams.A wonderfully new & old sound with great songs & remakes. The band put out some wonderful albums in the late 60's with a sound that predated Chicago.Too bad Chicago can't sound this good 40 years on.Pick this up, play it load & enjoy an under rated band that puts on a great live show today.Their live cd is good also but could have a few less covers & more Buckinghams songs.Hey baby they're playing our song. |

i didn't quite know what to expect whan i saw this new title.when you see an old band with something new you wish they hadn't tried to relive their past glory,BUT what a surprise. this new recording sounds like it could have been done in 1969.with 10 new songs, 9 written by CARL GIAMMARESE,and the other by MARTY GREBB,no longer with the new band, this is a really enjoyable venture. along with CARL is original member NICK FORTUNA and the other three members have been with them for over 20 years.
plus a five piece horn section makes this sound like the classic BUCKINGHAMS of yesteryear. give this new album a listen and close your eyes and go back to a happier time with this NEW BUCKINGHAMS offering. you won't be let down.you'll be back in love again with the BUCKINGHAMS. |
