F***IN BRUTAL!! Submitted on: 2009-04-10 |

| I stumbled upon this earlier today in FYE. The cover caught my eye, and when I saw the band's name was bloodbath I was like "I've gotta listen to this." so I start listening to the samples and I'm like "This is pretty damn sick." then I noticed Mikael Akerfeldt's name on it and I was like "SOLD!!" Didn't even realize it was live until I got to track 3, and heard the audience cheering. I was stunned that something live could sound SO good. Best purchase I've made in a long time. |

Near perfection Submitted on: 2008-11-24 |

Though indisputably great, this album still has one weakness - the tracklist. Though solid, "Nightmares made flesh" is just not as good as "Resurrection through carnage", and the playlist should have reflected that - including "Cancer of the soul" or "Eaten" instead of classic death tracks like "Death delerium" or "Trail of insects" weakens what could have been the best death metal album ever. Yeah, it is that good.
Having said that, everything else about this disc is just about perfect. Mikael Åkerfeldt is in top form, displaying both an inhuman roar and a bone-dry sense of humour, Dan Swanö's guitar playing underscores the wisdom of moving him off the drum stool and his replacement skin-pounder, new Opeth man Martin Axenrot, puts on a clinic. Coupled with a gorgeous production job and suitably gruesome cover art, this is an album no serious death metal fan can do without. |

| This one-off performance with Akerfeldt on vocals (only) lends a feel of a historical event. Play this one loud and you will love it. |

| This is the first Bloodbath cd I own and I have to say this band is awesome. There is not a song on here I don't like. In my opinion Bloodbath is death metal at it's finest. There are songs on here from all their cd's and every one pounds you unmercifully. The sound quality is great to be a live version and the DVD is the cd on screen. If you like good, hardcore, punishing death metal I advise you check out this cd and this band. |
