Every MADNESS LP/CD is worth the price you pay, but this is simply their finest hour.
Why the Madness collection is now limited/so expensive due to the recent outrageous prices boggles the mind. They're not just the best SKA band of the 80's, but one of 'the' premier bands all around for any type of music of their time period for all serious music listeners.
It's almost like a Best Of Part 1. One Step Beyond, My Girl, Night Boat To Cairo, Tarzan's Nuts, Bed And Breakfast Man, Swan Lake, & Mummy's Boy are just HALF of the tunes found here.
If you are limited in funds and can only afford 3 CD's from the 80's New Wave era, you must purchase a CD from these 3 artists: Madness, Squeeze and XTC. One Step Beyond is a must have for your Madness selection.
Apologies go out to the Clash, Elvis Costello, R.E.M., Ramones, Police, New Order, Depeche Mode and several others not mentioned here.
Yeah, I've seen these guys perform LIVE twice, Baltimore and D.C. in the 80's, and they're the ultimate trip. Chipmunks are GO! Did I mention this [Sound off] classic? 1-2-3-4...We Are Chimpmunks... |

The best of the best. Submitted on: 2009-04-06 |

| I first bought this album in high school back in the early 80's. I loved this album then, and I still love it. After college, I realized this album was lost, and I tried for a while to find it (before the internet, which was a little bit more difficult). Years past and I forgot about it....until recently. Now I have it again, and it brings back all those high school memories. I still know the songs word for word, even 25 years later. This album is the quintessential ska from the 80's and is by far their best album. Nothing else they made even came close to this one. It's a true classic. |

Stone Cold Ska Classic Submitted on: 2008-11-23 |

| One of the holy trinity of British ska albums (along with The Specials debut and Just Can't Stop It by the English Beat). Still sounds vital today. This release includes the great hidden track "Madness". |

| This CD is awesome. It sounds wonderful, and the music still stands up 20+ years later. I love it as much today as I did when I bought it on vinyl. |

| One of the most fun records to come out of the two-tone scene. A lot of the recordings from second-wave bands lack the energy that was present in their live shows, but that's not true here. Check out some of these classics. My favorite is "Night Boat to Cairo." |
