Hulk THRASH! Submitted on: 2009-09-08 |

Hulk love thrash metal, and Gamma Bomb play thrash metal the way Hulk like. No acoustic intro, no eight-minute instrumental, no clumsy anti-war ballad, or song ask Hulk "cry for the Indians". (Seriously, Anthrax: you lyrics embarrass Hulk.) Gamma Bomb deliver hundred megaton blast of catchy hook. Even guitar solo memorable, not just flurry of note. Hulk playing air guitar all across desert! Clean vocal, falsetto wail--Hulk die and go to thrash heaven? No, it just Gamma Bomb!
But real surprise? Gamma Bomb lyrics. Clever! Gamma Bomb know thrash metal a little silly (but a lot awesome). Make lyric bombastic on purpose, not bombastic on accident because no know any better. Presume listener knowledge of byways of eighties popular culture. Hulk enjoy allusion to comic book, video game, horror movie. Hulk can't believe Hulk ears--entire song lyrics quote from ROBOCOP screenplay?!? Thrash metal lyrics usually sound like write by semi-literate teenager. (Again, Hulk talking to you, Anthrax. Hulk love AMONG THE LIVING, but please consider take some class at community college.)
Maybe Gamma Bomb visit desert, play for Hulk? Hulk smash false metal! Hulk love Gamma Bomb! |

Most promising new band I've heard in years. Submitted on: 2009-03-09 |

| With songs about Ninja Turtles, Robo-cop quotes and zombies these guys hardly take themselves seriously--but what they do very well is deliver on the thrash. Great riffs, great solos and tongue-in-cheek lyrics are these guys hallmark. Of all the bands of the "thrash revival" persuasion I've heard these fellows are by far my favorite. Above all things, these guys can PLAY and that's what they are here to do, entertain you with a very genre specific style that is fast, catchy, carries a melody and pays homage to the 80's without being cliche or copycat-ish. Give them a try! Face melting goodness! |

some bloody good thrash from the UK Submitted on: 2009-01-16 |

| Oh my word, this is good. these guys combine their love of thrash with the love of TV and movies. the solos will blow you away. these guys are young, like a carbon copy of Bonded By Blood. I highly recommend this if you are into thrash bands such as Slayer, Forbidden, Kreator, Destruction, Sodom, Sacred Reich, Demiricous, Testament, Goddess Of Desire, Overkill, Exodus, Pantera, Horrorscope, Megadeth, Anthrax, and Nocturnal Breed, or anything past and present. |

Good but not original Submitted on: 2008-08-18 |

Of we were to listen to this in the late 80s and beginning of 90s, this would be an average thrash album. But in 2008, this is something to be talked on as there are not a lot of bands into this stuff.
Production is very clear. You can hear everything very clearly. A lot of double bass drumming with fast tempos. The art work is great actually. Comic style.
This is not crossover like SSS and Municipal Waste. On the other hand they have a humor like the latter. In terms of sound, it is more within the lines of Evile and Bonded by Blood - though both bands' first offerings are better than this I must say. It is not dark, rather a happy version of thrash. I think this is why people are comparing them with the early days of Anthrax.
There's a special edition w/ DVD. They talk a lot in the DVD and there are few live performances. Nothing special, only for collectors. |

Anthrax reborn? Submitted on: 2008-07-11 |

Crap this is good stuff. Not entirely original, like another reviewer said - they sound ALOT like early Anthrax. But that aint a bad thing. Songs are well produced and played with excellant musicianship.
Lots of humor, especially with songs like Zombie Blood Nightmare and Sentenced to Thrash and Bullet Belt. This is great speed metal/thrash!
If you love Anthrax, Death Angel, Slayer, Testament or Overkill, you'll love Gama Bomb! |
