It's alright Submitted on: 2009-07-15 |

| He has a nice voice...sounds a lot like Anthony Hamilton. Love the track "Words" with India Arie. However, I'm not in love with the entire album. |

Loved his music after seeing him live in concert! Submitted on: 2009-07-11 |

| Anthony was in Glenside, PA opening up for Dwele and Leela James, his music was filled with soul...neo soul actually! first heard of him and India Arie on a duet in VH1, felt I totally missed out on his music, which is not played on the radio, unless you have XM Radio, bottom line this album is sensual and acoustic...definitely a must have!!! Please listen to Cold Turkey, you wont be disappointed! |

| All I can say is buy it! You won't be disappointed....I really like every track on this cd and there are very few artists I can say that about. I jsut learned about Anthony a few months back when he gave a free show at a local university. He is extremely talented. Lots of feel good music..The kind of cd you want to hear when it's nice out and you have the sunroof open just cruisin'... It's a must have for the neo soul fan music lover. |

Made a fan outta me Submitted on: 2009-02-10 |

I picked this CD up sight unseen, because I saw he has a duet with India.Arie. I hadn't heard anything about him; I just know that Ms. Arie is an amazingly thoughtful person and a very skilled musician/lyricist. If she's sharing a song with Anthony David, he MUST be serious. I'm glad I bought this third release of his first, because it makes me want to find his first CD asap. Dude has a mature, experienced voice; one that doesn't have to run laps, do flips or headstands to earn your attention or respect. It's a voice of experience; one that says, "you need to listen up, cuz I know what I'm talkin' about."
Very thoughtful, articulate lyrics, too. I know, I know...in one tune he's callin' out the playas, in the next he's rollin' a joint and settin' up a booty call; then in the next he's confessing to being a habitual cheater. But hey...that's real life. These aren't depictions of life as it should be; A.D. is tellin' it like it is.
I must say that while I understand "Acey Duecy" is a compilation of 'best of' tunes, I can't help thinking that there's a message in the selection of these tunes. The message? "Here's a real man...the good, the bad, and the ugly. Take it or leave it." I for one am glad that someone is in tune with a real man's thought life. No guy is perfect, and all of us are either struggling with some character issue, or have overcome them. A.D. seems to be speaking for brothas that may fall short on occasion, but keep trying to do right. Message received. I'll take it. Hope you will too. |

Another Great Artist With Minimum Publicity Submitted on: 2009-02-03 |

| Wonder how long you have to be in the music business to get good publicity? The irony of the record business! Anthony has made an album that has almost all hits. It would take less time for me to tell you what songs I didn't like! My favorite has to be Words, with India Arie. This song has a great beat and a message. This song made me order the album. My next favorite is his cover of an oldie but goodie "Something About You". I loved Lady, Smoke One, Spittin Game, Kinfolk, Cheatin Man, Cold Turkey, and Krooked Kop. Like I said, this album has all hits. If only the music business wasn't so watered down with crap, this album would have had the publicity it deserves. Down the line, if this R&B great keeps turning out the same caliber of music, he'll come into his, and someone will mistakenly believe he was an overnight success! I'll make sure I'm here to straighten out the record! |
