2009 Oasis record

This record is pretty good, it took a few listens to appreciate it. There is a variety of songs on the record. The Shock of the Lighting is the most memorable track on the record. The rest of the record is worth checking out as well.
Fair showing from the band but not the same

It's a decent album I was hoping for a bit more fire, but hey it's okay
Almost Great...

I have been a fan of Oasis since my New York State Middle-School days in the later part of the 1990's. As with many fans, the album (What's The Story) Morning Glory?, got me hooked to Oasis and I've been a moderate fan ever since. Throughout the course, I have checked in on the band from time to time and have always bought their new releases. In my opinion, Oasis's newer work was a mixed emotion for me, some was good, some was just ok, and some was bad. Perhaps, a few good songs here and there, but nothing great as a collective body of work that truly excited me. On the other hand, Dig Out Your Soul was a pleasantly surprising experience, because I have not been this excited about Oasis since those lovely middle-school days. (What's The Story) Morning Glory? was great, but it's now in the past, just a good piece of work to go back to for sentimental purposes. Dig Out Your Soul is a breath of fresh air to me, a new sound (if you will), with a very unique atmospheric quality. In my opinion, the album is almost solid, except for a couple of songs that seem to stand out like a pair of bad stragglers or even outliers. Track 10 (The Nature of Reality), written by Andy Bel, is one such song that disappointed me towards the end of the album. The second song, track 8 (To Be Where There's Life), written by Gem, is another disappointment that seems to drag out like a mop through the sticky streets of Bombay. Coincidentally, both were not written by the Gallagher brothers, which might say something or maybe not? I don't want to judge the writing abilities of Andy Bell and Gem, but these songs really don't belong on this album. The work flows harmoniously until you hit the bump with track 8 and another major bump with track 10. Both songs do have that psychedelic quality as with the rest of the album, but they are just not good songs. Pretentious lyrics, dragged out mediocrity, boring to the eardrums...are just a few first thoughts that come into my mind about the two songs. Without them, I think the album would of been a beautiful 9 track masterpiece. Though, I'm still very happy about Did Out Your Soul, a great album indeed, but with just two nagging tracks...that I can always skip over.
Not as catchy

I really love What's The Story Morning Glory! A friend insisted the new Oasis was a must have. Hasn't measured up to his enthusiasm. Just don't feel the songs are as strong. Probably keep it though!
A disappointment from an otherwise great band

"Dig Out Your Soul" features Oasis with a slightly trippy twist on their music. Despite some great tracks, the album lacks a sense of direction and focus.

The highlights of this album are "Shock Of The Lighting" and "I'm Outta Time"; they are both awesome songs, with the first being an awesome, nearly psychadelic rock song, and the second being a well-written, sentimental song. The first song is also very interesting and has some experimental chord sequencing.

The rest of the album seems lackluster and unexciting. A lot of it seems to be repeated chord sequences fading into oblivion and blur.
