What is it with people and the Partridge Family? I Don't get it. First of all we are all old enough now to know that the Partridge Family wasn't A real Family playing all the instruments and singing. We all know that David Cassidy hated being in the show, and did'nt like the music. However, I think this is one of the better Partridge Family albums. It is certainly better than Crossword Puzzle. I think Cassidy sounds great. I think the tunes are awesome pop songs. These songs are getting to be pretty old now, but I find it really really funny that a lot of people have never forgotten them. That in itself is says something about these songs. They have staying power. That says alot for a song. If you like the Partridge Familys other albums. You will like this as well. Cassidy does not sound tired. I think Cassidy may have hated these songs but when he recorded them like the trooper that he is, he gave it his 100%. That's just David's style. He is a first class guy.

There is something missing from this album....perhaps because this album contains many of the last PF recordings made by Cassidy. The show was moved to Saturday nights opposite All in the Family and did a free fall in the ratings. To boost interest the producer's brought in tiny Ricky Segal to sing a tacked on song at the end of the show. Cassidy seemed to just show up to say a few lines. Few plots involved David cassidy...the focus was moved to Danny Bonaduce...a cute kid who grew into a chubby, unsightly preteen on the show. Former fans fled in droves. By now, Cassidy had proclaimed he just wanted out.

Cassidy's vocals sound tired and he seems uninterested at best. "Where do we go from here" is especially bad. It sounds like it was recored via tin can. "That's the way it is with you girl" also sounds tired...like it was recorded at 3 AM. There is one bright spot: " I wouldn'd put nothing over on you" should have been a single. It has the upbeat, lively PF sound.

As a "bonus" on the CD, "Ain't love easy" and "roses in the snow" are leftovers from a Shirley Jones album that was never released. Both are a big miss and not really worth a listen.

There is a reason it took soooooooooooo long to release the CD. It sounds terrible. During the initial release in the 70's, I don't even think this mess charted. Face it, this is a package of leftovers rleased to squeeze a few more dimes for Columbia/Screen Gems.
Great CD and Ms. Shirley Jones IS on the CD

This is an awesome CD. I'm very surprised it took this long for it to come out on CD but I must say I'm glad Collectors Choice did it. This is the best remastering of any of The Patridge Family CD's. There is no hiss. It's a clean and clear, virtually perfect job as far as the remastering goes. I would not go so far as to say this is my favorite Partridge Family release as far as the content of the CD, that would be Sound Magazine, but it is still a great CD and I'm happy to have it. In the release notes on the Amazon web site there is a major mistake, Ms. Shirley Jones DID in fact sing background vocals on this CD as she had on all the others. She is also credited as such on the CD.
Wonderful

The Partridge Family's last album was pretty good although it didn't sell well and it's hard to find on vinyl but it you loved their other albums you should get this one as well.
