Bear McCreary does not get enough credit for his work on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. He took cues from the first two movies, and then took the score in an entirely different direction. I love this soundtrack to death. It evokes real emotion.
Battlestar Galactica fans and Sarah Connor fans can both agree that Bear is one of the best composers currently working. |

Good Soundtrack For A Great Show Submitted on: 2009-09-19 |

Unfortunately, Terminator: TSCC was given the pink slip before it's time. It was certainly much more of a drama than an action show, and a heavy drama at that. Very dark and brooding. Definitely a departure from the Terminator style of storytelling, but with the quality of the writing I really couldn't complain. The lack of action and overall grimness was probably what did the show in though. Sad, but unfortunately very predictable.
Now onto the actual soundtrack. For those not familiar with Bear McCreary, he is the composer for the Battlestar Galactica television series that recently concluded. The soundtrack for BSG was absolutely EPIC. Bear's approach was utterly unique and really served to be another member of the cast on the show. BSG would not have been what it was without Bear's music. For Terminator: TSCC, Bear again got off to a great start. This soundtrack isn't as thematically rich as BSG, but the main "Sarah Connor" theme is excellent, and Bear riffs off of the classic Terminator themes and sounds very well.
It doesn't quite meet the pedigree of the Battelstar Galactica soundtracks, but overall this soundtrack for the first season of Terminator: TSCC is very good and suits the feel of the show very well. I definitely recommend it to fans of the show. |

Amazing music for an amazing show Submitted on: 2009-09-05 |

Well, I'll be brief if you love the show Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, you simply shouldn't miss this great CD with all the music of the first season and some of the second (as for example "Samson & Delilah" performed by Shirley Manson and "Ain't we famous" from 2x02 - Automatic for the people).
And it's funny to hear the complete version of a song that maybe in the show you listen only for few secs. |

Great for remembering the series Submitted on: 2009-08-24 |

the music is very nice for what it is which is a composition of all the major music orchestrations from the series. This includes the full versions of songs only heard in part on the show including my favorite Cyborg/executive, Catherine Weaver aka Garbage's Shirley Manson.
Great show while it was on the air and I'm definitely frustrated the show won't get to air its conclusion to the storyline arcs - big bummer! A shame they took a successful show and then moved it to another slot - that never works for the fan base. I'll be able to make some nice slideshows with this as the background music. |

Better than the movies! Submitted on: 2009-07-09 |

The series explores topics and ideas in a more interesting fashion than the movies. Sure they don't have the budget of the movies, but the concepts are very engrossing. Season 1 is better than season 2, but season 2 picks up near the end.
In all of the movies, the humans "win" eventually. The show was cancelled, but the end of season 2 had the machines win. I assumed that in sesaon 3 they would show how we recovered from that loss, but now, without a season three it is a huge cliff hanger! That's not good. Still a great watch, but I hope they put out a 2 hr movie or something to wrap up that very loose end! |
