HEADSMASHER!!! Submitted on: 2009-08-06 |

I don't know what to say. But you, if you REALLY love true hip-hop, will LOVE this album! I can not stop listening to Gazillion Ears! Doom is just what hip-hop needs. We lost the wildout rap style when Common cleaned up his style to be more "commercial", we lost grimey when Wu-Tang ceased to hit the airwaves with gritty material (well, when the radio stopped playing it), we lost beats when Dilla passed away (r.i.p. JayDee), and we lost headbob when TCQ broke up.
All I have to say is Doom is the resuscitation of hip-hop!
From the moment you listen to the intro track, you won't stop listening to Doom. Gazillion Ears is the track that sets this whole album off. Doom must have listened to fans who said they would love to hear him doa a track longer than 2-3 minutes because this one is over 4 mins! Woo-hoo! I personally like Absolutely and Microwave Mayo as those tunes deliver a specific sound I like in hip-hop, but the album itself is very good! The track with Ghostface named Angelz is str8 crack! Even Yessir! with Raekwon is beast! I am very hard to please but I can't think of one track where he isn't spittin heat. His unorthodox rhyme style is just what's needed in today's Autotune gen and hollow lyrical content (Thanks Kanye for stinkin up hip-hop's hallways!).
If you haven't copped it, download, listen, love it! Doom is coming for heads inthe industry if you ain't heard! |

What a complete waist of our national resources on materials to make this disc. If you're a Doom fan, be careful with this one. WHAT WAS DOOM THINKING? I like Ghost, Raekwon and Bumpy, but other than reading their names in the credits, there is not much there. Bumpy is not even represented, other than what appears to be a conversation.
In my opinion this blows, and I will recycle it immediately. I tried to give it away already.....no takers. OUT |

Doom needs the MF back in his name... Submitted on: 2009-06-25 |

| I'm sorry, but the production on this record is just not good enough. After MF Doom spoiled us with the magnificent Madlib produced Madvillian album, and doing some solid material with Danger Mouse, this album just comes off mediocre. Most of these tracks are produced by Doom himself and he's just not that good behind the boards as he is on the mic, that's just the truth. Maybe the raps are good in many of these songs, maybe, but if the beat is whack who really gives a damn? If you are a fan of the Madvillian album, skip this. Hopefully the true follow up to that album will come someday. |

The illest MC with no chain I ever heard Submitted on: 2009-06-22 |

This album by DOOM entitled "Born Like This" is great. Another classic album to add to the list of greatness. DOOM has done it again with his Villain style, and he makes no apologies for being "Born Like This". DOOM is no doubt one of the greatest MC's in the game and he does it with mad style, humility and cleverness that leaves me feenin for more.
Favorite tracks are:
"Gazillionaire"
"Ballskin"
"Absolutely"
"Lightworks"
"Cellz"
"Still Dope"
"More Rhymin'"
and "That's That"
and the rest of the tracks are ill too like "Yezzir" and "Angels" "Microwave Mayonaise" "Rap Ambush" They all have that flavor that only DOOM knows how to cook up. If you haven't got yourself a copy of this you are sleeping. WAKE UP! COP IT! I did the day it dropped and I havent stopped listening to it!!! Peace out all you little villains! |

4 Stars! Doom Is Back Indeed! Submitted on: 2009-06-16 |

| I picked this up on impulse when it was on sale and am happy I did. Doom had been faltering somewhat lately with not dropping promised albums, doomposters, and so forth. I thought he was off his game, but this CD proves he is still dope as ever. The style of the CD is a little off kilter, a lot of short tracks, some old tracks, but overall it is a nice little album that shows Doom is dope as ever. The production flows nicely with the album and Doom rips most tracks viciously. Pick this up if you are a fan! |
