Customer Reviews of This Album/CD

Great music!

Some songs weren't in the movies, but they are still great. It was a gift for my husband who loves Indiana Jones and the soundtrack. He was singing all the songs days after he listened to the cds. A must for anyone who loves Indiana Jones and the music.
As the ultimate Indy fan, it's complete enough for me

This review is being written by a guy who has two Herbert Johnson fedoras and one made by Penman Hats; a leather jacket designed by the people who designed Harrison Ford's jackets in the movies, and even the Mark VII gas mask bag carried by Indiana Jones in his search for fortune and glory. I dress up in the whole outfit -- clothes, pistol, hat, jacket, whip, and bag -- every Halloween (or whenever the mood strikes me). That being said, I can't agree with the people who claim that this set is "incomplete."

Randomly running through pieces found in the discs brought me back immediately to treasured scenes from the movies. John Williams is second to none in his movie scores, and this set, if you are a true fan of Indiana Jones, is a must-have in your music library. Unless you are truly bothered by (paraphrasing the critics) "33 seconds lost on this selection," or "51 seconds not recorded in this selection," etc., you will only find thrills to be relived by the music on these discs. I recommend this set unconditionally.
An "almost" perfect collection

I can only give this collection 4 stars out of 5 because, unlike "complete" soundtracks for other classic movies, this one has a couple of odd edits. The "On the Tank" track actually takes place in the middle of "Belly of the Steel Beast" and "Desert Chase" has a significant portion REMOVED. These ARE minor quibbles and the previously unreleased music is certainly worth purchasing, but you can't help but feel there's a "complete" soundtrack on its way. Until then, re-organizing the music requires a bit of work, but the sound quality and content are more than sufficient.
Indiana Jones!

Finally a more complete set of the scores to all of the Indiana Jones movies is available. I have always enjoyed listening to much of John Williams' work for the movies, and these scores are among his most enjoyable - right next to Star Wars and Superman.

What makes this set worth the cost is the nearly complete release for The Temple of Doom and the Last Crusade. There is another release for Raiders that had captured much of the music not contained on the original vinyl release back in '81, but the original vinyl release of the Temple of Doom in '84 left much of the music out. Ditto for the CD release of The Last Crusade in '89.

Now if only we could get such a release for the Star Wars prequel trilogy ...
John Willams is a genius!

Once again, I have been wowed out by a magnificent score by John Williams. The box set has proved a wonderful edition to our extensive collection of soundtracks. This is a must-have for a true Indian Jones fan. Envision the scenes going through your head, as the music plays. Needless to say, I am a happy customer!
