Another sexy album from Avant. I have all his albums and i love them all but this one is to my opinion one of the bests.
I can't get this kind of albums in Spain so that's why i love amazon because i can get them and pre-order them. |

| This CD never leaves my car! After hearing Avant's remake of the song "Sailing" I purchased this CD right away. His CD is a mixture of fast and slow songs; I absoultely love everyone of them. |

| I love Avant; however, this is the worse CD he ever produced. I would not recommend this CD to anyone. |

Nothing special, just like the rest of his LPs Submitted on: 2009-03-09 |

Avant's fifth album, which is self-titled, is alright, if that. It tricks the listener though, because there are about three nice songs on this LP, and it leads you to believe that the entire album will be magnificent, but then he sinks deeply into mediocrity. As a unit, I am not satisfied with this album because it's just sort of boring and definitely not consistent enough. "When it Hurts" was the first track released from this album. I would hear it on the radio and always turn the station until one day I decided to listen. I discovered that it is a decent track; the lyrics are pretty touching. Sure, it's a typical R&B track, but it's not bad at all. There are some nice, mid-tempo dance tracks. "Sensuality", "Involve Yourself" and "Perfect Gentlemen" are all good songs by Myron Avant. Really, these tracks have the "steppers" feel to them. However, tracks like "French Pedicure", "Out of Character" and "Break Ya Neck" bring the album down because there is nothing special about any of them.
Personally, I don't see anyone giving this album more than three stars. There eleven tracks, some are good, but none are spectacular. I would suggest listening to excerpts before making a purchase.
1. "Sensuality"
2. "Perfect Gentlemen"
3. "When it Hurts"
4. "Involve Yourself"
5. "Sailing"
