Dissapointing Submitted on: 2009-10-31 |

| I followed Melinda throughout her journey on American Idol and was dissapointed when she didn't win. This album was dissapointing at best. I felt the whole album should have been jazz. It seemed like she was all over the place and not very focused. She has a beautiful voice. Perhaps the struggle is finding what genre works best for her. |

Looking forward to Melinda's next release. Submitted on: 2009-09-24 |

| So looked forward to the release of this album and the wait was well worth it; although I had about worn out the cd from the 2007 season for which I downloaded all of Melinda's weekly performances. She has a wonderful voice and really should have been in the finals and won the 2007 Idol contest. The selections for this album are very interesting and demonstrate not only the range of her voice but the range in the genre of music of which she is capable of mastering. |

Not for youngsters who don't know what real singing is Submitted on: 2009-09-16 |

| Melinda is a very good singer, who clearly should have won Idol! This CD is for a sophisticated palate, young folks haven't been on Earth long enough to know what real singing is, they've grown up on "studio singers". Most folks however will really enjoy this CD. |

Lyrics good, vocals good, music disappointing Submitted on: 2009-08-27 |

Honestly, it sounds like the Temptations's band director produced this album and, he hired his friends to play the music. Actually, it wasn't that good. The music is old, and it's not even good old. It's boring. I waited for the price to of this album to go down before I purchased it because, though I am a huge Melinda fan, I wasn't sure that I would like it based on the previews that I heard on Amazon. It was a waste of money. I listened to the entire album and found nothing that was worth listening to again.
It's a shame because she has a great voice, and she's a great singer. I even liked the lyrics of most of the songs. The music was just so bad though. I'm sorry but there are kids with their own home made cd's that have more imaginative music than this album. I wonder who insisted on going completely old school? Not that there's anything wrong with old school, but the whole album?
She has an old message in her music which is fine, but it must be presented the right way. This style of music won't open the door for her to reach many. I hope she mixes it up next time.
