| I was a little disappointed with the "Karma Bloody Karma" album so my expectations for this release were not that high. How wrong was I. With "The Harvest Floor" these guys show a great improvement in songwriting and musicianship. Songs are damn fast (the inclusion of David McGraw on the drums was a good choice) with a lot of tempo changes. The introduction of some melodic sections (like in "We Are Horrible People", "Regret & The Grave", "The Rip Beneath The Rind") will stun some fans that were accustomed to the in-you-face grinding of their early records... for me it's like a breath of fresh air, that sections spice up and improve the diversity of this album. Vocals are sick as always, thy fit perfect for the twisted and gory lyrics. Overall mix is great, you can distinguish every instrument without problems. So, if you're willing to hear an extremely heavy death metal album, "The Harvest Floor" must be on your CD shelf. |

Best Death Metal album of 2009!!! Submitted on: 2009-08-12 |

I have been into Death Metal since 1989 and have seen hundreds of shows.
This is the best death metal album of 2009. A weak song does not exist on it. The vocals are truly unique (excellent live too.) The percussion, song writing, and guitar playing are also remarkable. The mix and overall production of the album is excellent too. It is a shame that they are not getting the exposure that they deserve. Though they presently blow away Lamb of God, I believe they should have opened up for them this year. I suppose bands would be afraid to be shown up. Job For A Cowboy's Ruination is great also. You might even venture outside of death metal to Psyopus. |

This album is unlike other Cattle Decap CDs. It's really good! Submitted on: 2009-03-16 |

The main reason it is better is that there is a new drummer. The guy from Sleep Terror. He is really fast, tight and technical. His timing is way better than the last guy and it makes a world of difference.
This album is very brutal and heavy. I hated their last CD, I love this one. It's dark and heavy. Hyperblasting drums, crazy guitar, and insane throat ripping vocals.
If you did not like Cattle Decapitation, then check this CD out, because it is light years better than all the other of their CDs. |

Amazing Submitted on: 2009-02-25 |

This record is probably the best death metal album of 2009! The vocals are unreal and they create an instrument in themselves, his range both high and low, is like nothing that I have ever heard. From the first song to the last song my jaw is on the floor with all of the technical, fundamental, and amazingly heavy display of brutality.
(Just listen to the end of the first song if you want to put your fist through someones face!!)
PICK THIS UP NOW!!! You will not be disappointed if you are a fan of death/grind or if you are looking for something completely blasphemous this is what you want for sure. |

A Further Evolution Submitted on: 2009-01-23 |

| Cattle Decapitation started as a straightforward grind band. With Humanure they shifted into a more complex mix, and karma.bloody.karma was a true demonstration of the band's vision. the harvest floor is apparently the product of that vision. The production is absolutely brilliant. Travis' vocals are stronger than ever. Josh incorporates many techniques in his riffs and solos. The addition of Dave was a fantastic decision for a drummer, his ability to carry a fast grind beat but also put his own spin on it is great. This cd is brilliant, every song is fantastically written. If you are a fan of any genre of metal you should listen to this. |
