A Real Delight Submitted on: 2009-11-20 |

| This is a group and a CD I bought entirely off the samples. Something about it seemed to work and, after playing the tracks many times, the songs do work. There's is something retro about the songs, almost like the 50's, but with a 'modern' lushness. The lyrics are catchy, but not trivial. |

lovely, lovely Submitted on: 2009-11-15 |

| I have many of Camera Obscura's albums but I feel this one reaches a far greater audience, and is a fine mix of love struck ballads and fast paced catchy tunes: Honey in the Sun, The Sweetest Thing..simply lovely. |

Love, Encapsulated... Submitted on: 2009-11-03 |

I fell in love with this album just a few days ago. It's a gem. I'm almost embarrassed to admit that "French Navy" makes tears well up in my eyes. Each song shoots straight at my heart with a arrow dipped in a warm, sharp, bittersweet pool of magical poison. The sense of acoustic/physical space and the 'wall of sound' harken less to indie rock then to huge Phil Spector productions of the 1960s and 1970s. I'm especially reminded of George Harrison's "All Things Must Pass." Take the mixed tempos, gorgeous tones, and beautiful melodies, emotively sung and with just the right ornament over the just the right harmony, and you have pop music perfection.
BUT THIS RECORDING RIGHT NOW!

Loved the sound Submitted on: 2009-11-01 |

| This album has some really good songs on it. If you really like Camera Obscura I would say buy the disc; otherwise, I would recommend downloading your fav 2 or 3 tracks. I would love to hear them live if they would ever pass through Asheville, NC. They would kill at the Orange Peel. |

| Well I'm not from the UK (thankfully) so let's just forget all that crap about comparisons with Belle & Sebastian. I heard one of the songs on YRock on a Friday, ordered the CD from Amazon on Saturday, it came in the mail on Wednesday and I've been listening to it every day since. I love it. I plan on buying all their CD's. The way the lead singer rolls off her notes is amazing to me, and she has that special haunting voice that is so rare today. This group is top notch and I'm just sorry I found them a little late. |
