Buyer Beware: Most songs in this compilation are not *original* tracks from AR Rahman's body of work. T-Series recently acquired rights to his music (how? and most importantly why?), and in a bizarre move, used a bunch of no-name singers (excluding maybe Mano,Sujatha & Javed Ali) to cover these songs. The recreated arrangements are less than stellar (like the weird drums in Ramta Jogi), and the singing sometimes just sad (Fanaa).
This is definitely not for music-lovers looking for an extra dose of Rahman since checking out his 'Slumdog Millionaire'.
Note: As polluted as the songs are, they are in essence, still Rahman creations. Had to give it 2 stars. |

 A great value for money for a great music collection

| If you have been captured by Slumdog fever and are looking for a way to immerse yourself in more A.R. Rahman, then this is surely the collection for you. 51 songs on 3 CD's with two tracks from SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE included. The wealth is in the fact that most of this music dwarfs the Oscar Winning soundtrack. This music has wide range from danceable grooves to haunting melodies this has to be the best deal out there for lovers of Rahman Magic. My copy came from Mumbai in record time- at a great price. So take a chance, you won't regret it. By the way, I have no idea what they're singing about - but it matters little! |
