Abbey Road for a new generation Submitted on: 2009-11-17 |

| My God. This album is of a piece, and transports me. Some tunes are reminiscent of the more languid moments of Abbey Road, Sun King in particular. Great going guys...please keep it up! |

Something old and something new... Submitted on: 2009-11-16 |

I'm a child of the Seventies and Eighties, and I still adore bands like The Smiths and The Cure. I've always preferred unusual, well-written pop music laced with a tinge of melancholy. There aren't too many modern bands, in my mind, that fit the bill. Then I heard Grizzly Bear.
Their music seems very modern and unique...Very well written...And it definitely has a strong pop music sensibility. Yet I hear the past too...and that subtle tinge of sadness that I love. This album has become a fixture on my stereo, and it is one of the few albums that I find myself listening to in its entirety.

So So Great! Submitted on: 2009-11-14 |

| I haven't been this in love with a band since Radiohead Kid A and In Rainbows. The melodies the voices and the builds all combine to make a truly magical music experience. I really love these guys and am getting Yellow House and Horn of Plenty. A truly meaningful listening experience! |

haunting... Submitted on: 2009-11-05 |

| One of the most original and haunting albums I've heard in quite a while. It's contemporary and nostalgic at the same time. Maybe a mix of Radiohead and King Crimson? It's hypnotic and I'm finding something new to appreciate with each listen. |

A great introduction to the music of Grizzly Bear Submitted on: 2009-10-29 |

| I bought this album, unheard, after reading reviews in the New Yorker and on Amazon--not the best way to pick new music. But I'm glad I did. Grizzly Bear doesn't sound like any other band I've heard. Though there are occasional faint reminders of other groups, they have their own sound, and it's mellow and complex. I've played this album at least a dozen times, and it still sounds great to me--familiarity hasn't decreased the pleasure. I'd definitely buy more of their music. |
