This is the only lullaby album I have been able to listen to repeatedly. Submitted on: 2009-11-18 |

| I must have tried 10 by now - my daughter is 13 months. Jewel has done a wonderful job with this. It's not too Disney (though I am a huge Disney fan). It's not too childish or cutesy. It's just beautiful with wonderful unexpected lyrics. |

| I like Jewel (especially her earlier stuff), but this isn't one of her better albums. Relaxing but kind of generic. There are better Jewel albums out there and better lullaby albums out there. I recommend the "Putumayo Kids" one called "Dreamland". |

Soothing and Beautiful Submitted on: 2009-11-06 |

| Jewel connects with her listeners on a deeper level. Her melodies and deep lyrics touch a chord within. Her lovely voice soothes and relaxes. Enjoy! |

| First, I found this in the children's section at a local library. Second, toy manufacturer Fisher Price is the record label she's on. The music itself is merely a retread of macho woman red neck teritory covered before. Compares poorly to genre defining This Way. Curious to the new Jewel album? Well I got the Perfectly Clear album, which is much better than this. Too predictable. |

~*~*~Sounds BEAUTIFUL, PEACEFUL, SOOTHING~*~*~ Submitted on: 2009-10-26 |

When my girls first came home from the hospital we realized they would not sleep in complete silence, they were used to noise(the womb is a noisy place, constantly) and when they were in the hospital they were always around noise. So when we came home it was no surprise they needed noise. At first we just tried to have their DVD player play a cartoon DVD all night, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas was the only one we had that would continually play on its own...we did that for several weeks but the TV lit up the room & only after a few days my husband and I began to hate that cartoon, lol.
The next thing we tried was radio static. That actually does work & sounds somewhat similar to inside the womb BUT there was always some sort of vehicle that would go by our house and cause it to go haywire, real loud beeps and such which normally woke up the girls.
Finally we decided to buy a CD player & a lullaby CD. My husband went to our local store, bought a cheap radio w/cd player & this Jewel CD was the ONLY Lullaby one the store had so he got it.
Most of these songs I have never even heard(I'm almost 30) but she has such a beautiful voice, she could be singing the phone book on this CD and it would be just as good.
We put the CD on Play All Repeat so it would play all night long & since my husband and I have a baby monitor in our room we heard it all night long too. It was quite soothing & relaxing and soon enough I was singing along in my head as I fell asleep. My husband DID start to get a little annoyed with a couple of the songs but I could listen to them everyday. My husband still likes this though.
Since we bought a cheap CD player, the junky thing usually stops playing only after a few songs now so all night long we just have on the radio. My girls will sleep with a radio station, static, or just about any music CD. So this CD doesn't make them sleep any better or longer, any noise will do that. BUT it is beautiful & soothing to me and my girls like when this CD is on and I humm along with it while I rock them. |
