I'm glad I borrowed this from the library-Not Good Submitted on: 2009-11-17 |

| I love Queen Latifah and was excited to see a new album, unfortunately, this is not working on many levels. I love the growth that the Queen has been experienced but the CD did not do it for me. I think jazz/rap and r&b are her better genres, this was not good. I didn't like the manufactured beats, the sounded horrible, especially on the song with the heartbeat, I was shocked at how bad it was. She should have kept this on the shelf until she had a winner. A couple of the songs were okay, but most were not. Save your money and your ears, buy some of her older stuff. |

I get you QL Submitted on: 2009-11-05 |

| So many want to be quick to say they want the old Latifah, instead of realizing how much she has grown. This is a woman who can pull off a dramatic role and turn right around and be silly in an off the wall comedy. I can respect that about her. She wants to be relevant to all audiences. The title of the album explains it all. Personally I didn't want to hear the QL of so long ago and was pleasantly surprised by this album. It is definitely underrated. While I have had the album for a few weeks I have only now pulled it out to give it a listen and it is in repeat play mode now. So sad that the world has slept on this. |

I AM ON THE FENCE BUT SHE IS STILL THE QUEEN Submitted on: 2009-11-03 |

| If you are looking for the old Queen, might as well give it up. That is the entire purpose of being an artist you must be able to change and create new ways of making music. The album is not a classic but it is not horrible in any way. It took some time but I do have my favorites. "hard for me to love you", "fast cars", "long a$$ week", and "the light". I would most def go to concert to see her perform. Hopefully the next album will be rhyming. |

Wazzn't happy wit it Submitted on: 2009-10-09 |

Unfortunately, a lot of times most of us consumers like to see celebrities in the area that we first came to love them in. I can always appreciate an artist trying out new things, but just because they try doesn't mean that we have to love it. As far as spreading wings and trying things, I'd say "Good job, Queen!", but I really thought that this CD sounded bad. As a DJ there once was a time when I would buy Queen Latifah music on sight without hearing, but ever since she expanded out of hip hop, I AIN'T BOUGHT A THING!!! Yes, she can sing, but a soloist on a track, I ain't trying to hear it. (I still play "Black Reign" on a regular basis) I won't buy any music of hers again unless it's strictly rhyming!!

A disappointment Submitted on: 2009-10-06 |

| Even though Latifah sounds great, and her lead single Cue the Rain is fantastic, the rest of this album falters from bad writing and production. Maybe half the songs on this album are worth listening to. Her jazz efforts are better than this. |
