Strange Cousins From The West

If this music does not communicate with something deep in your being, you are not really alive. This is some toe tapping stuff that will make you want to get up and dance. Love it!
Apaprently I don't get Clutch anymore...

I have been on board with Clutch since the I saw the video for "shogun named marcus" forever ago.
With that said, I don't feel like the band contains any of those traits that I originally fell in love with.
There's no edge to anything that they do. They've wandered away from anything that might be spacey at all.
This just feels like Beale Street part 2 to me. And if you liked that record, you should love this one!

Personally, I like Clutch when they put some distortion on their guitars and rock out without doing so in a blues scale on every song! This just feels like an effort to create more of the same.

And yeah, I get it. Bands evolve and change. But for this guy, I'd just prefer to listen to Pure Rock Fury and everything made prior to that record and pretend that the last couple of disks just weren't made. I've had enough keyboards and jamming in my life time.

I'll still see them when they come to town, because there is nothing better than hearing big news or rats or
soapmakers...etc...in a live setting. Still love Clutch. I do. I just can't get in to the new sound.
Good album

Good album overall. Similar to the last one but still pretty good. Clutch just keeps going strong...a very underrated band. If you're a fan, you may not like this one as much as the last few, but you'll still enjoy it. The track Abraham Lincoln is a bit slow, but the album picks up later on. I just saw them live and they still sound great!

new clutch album is pretty good, this coming from a die hard fan. good sound, and it seems like they might be phasing out their keyboard player? i believe he's only on one of the tracks.
Disappointed

I heard (and saw) one of their songs on MTV while channel-surfing so I thought I'd give Clutch a try. I have to say: the CD was a disappointment. It's not bad but it's not that good either. It's a solid rock album but nothing special. I guess that's doesn't leave much to say about it...

Not recommended.
