| This is not vintage Willie Nelson. American Classic is a big disappointment. The accompaniement is seriously lacking--pretty much a bass, electric piano, and drums--not the lush orchestral backgrounds on previous albums that complement Nelson's gravely voice. |

| The thing that I love about Willie is he is never afraid to take a chance and do something different...and who always wants to hear the same thing from an artist all the time anyway....I am so happy that he decided to make this cd...It's so totally different than his last cd which I also loved, and that's the nice thing about variety....He did a great job on these standards....Great job Willie!!!!!! Thank you. |

The old master is a master at delivering the goods on these classic romantic songs. And when he teams with Diana Krall on one and Nora Jones on another, it's magical. There's something about that little quiver in his voice and his always-unique delivery that is perfect for this genre. |
