POST-VAN HALEN BAND ON CD. 2009 Submitted on: 2009-11-16 |

| Hagar teams up with Van Halen bassist, plus Joe Satriani and Red Hot Chili Peppers' drummer, to form CHICKENFOOT. This record was quite good, from beginning to end. Not really a bad track on the disc. |

I wanted this album to be awesome but it is pretty good Submitted on: 2009-11-09 |

| I was so excited to get this new album. I love Satch and think the rest of the band are all top players. I also really like Sammy. It almost lives up to my high expectations. It is a good rock album but not great. I still like it and play it a lot. The songs are all pretty good and the playing has great moments. What it lacks is a real passion. Maybe they are all a little too comfortable. I guess you have to suffer for art. |

Finally! An album that breathes rock! Submitted on: 2009-11-08 |

| "Chickenfoot" is a breath of fresh air. After all the top 40, 3 minute power pop stuff that seems to be the 'cutting edge', Sammy, Joe, Mike and Chad make it ok to blow off some stream, catch a buzz of great grooves and make it ok to boogie your face off. This is my first 'mainstream' music buy in quite a few years, as I prefer to listen to independent music and intrumental rock. Being a fan of Joe for many years, it seemed natural for him to try a rock outfit. This isn't a Satriani disc or a Van Hager disc or a Chili Peppers. Each musician brings his toolbox of tricks and techniques and fuses them to bring...well...what else? Chickenfoot. One may say that the tunes sound like updated versions of Van Hager. Perhaps. But, for me, in this day and age where mainstream music has become boring, Chickenfoot brings the party attitude back. Sure, Sammy is the ultimate party man. But, at 61, he shows no signs of slowing down. We hear the guitar gymnastics of Joe and Joe always plays in the pocket. Chad Smith brings the funk elements but Chad does rock and can play a ballad with ease. Michael Anthony's bass holds it all together and my only hope would be if these characters can keep the egos in check and continue to pump out some great toe-tapping tunes, Chickenfoot could bring arena rock back to the forefront. Sorry mainstreamers, but there's a new foot in town. Let's hope they can hold it together cuz the music world really needs a facelift. |

this is killer Submitted on: 2009-11-07 |

| I haven't written a review for this because, well, everyone else has. But the whole cd is great. Hagar is great, Satriani is great, Anthony is great, this is the best thing since Van Halen's Balance and for guy's this age to come up with killer new songs like they have is amazing. Usually this sort of group is playing the nostalgia circuit like Poison, Styx, Reo, or even Van Halen, but these guys are writing songs and obviously having fun. Buy it, it is awesome. |
