I have been following Rebelution for 3 years now, and i have LOVED every song they have put out there. This album was better than i expected. Check their website out, and see if they are touring in your town, because they are even better live! I promise you will not be disappointed!
A perfect follow up to their amazing debut album!

Seriously, this is a beautiful album. Every track has something unique and captivating about it. Track 5, "Suffering" is the chillest song in my library. The song, "Wake Up Call" has a great message and awesome lyrics. For those of you who say they don't like it, listen again and sit back and feel the groove, because every song has it!

Buy this album!!
Great Album, Not Quite As good as Courage To Grow

Overall the album is very decent to listen to. Yes it certainly does not match up to their first major cd, "Courage to Grow" which was an overall excellent cd. I would give that cd 6 stars out of 5 because it was perfect. If you want more of the similar guitar riffs and keyboard and reggae sound then you will definitely want this cd. I liked over half the songs throughout my first listen and I know the others will grow on me overtime. My favorite songs are #1, #2, #, #6,#8, #9, #10, #12. I do admit that the original "change the system" sounded a bit better as it had more sounds and was a bit more unique as a song. Still the new version is still good.

If you are looking for a danceable Reggae/Rock album to listen to while at the beach, friends house, a party or an event then this is it.
If you do not like rock at least a little bit then you will not like this cd as its a mixture of rock and reggae.

Keep in mind Rebelution has a new singer now. I feel he is almost as good and makes the songs just as fun to listen to. Lyrics overall don't meet the quality of "Courage to Grow" but there are still some really great songs with amazing lyrics like "moonlight" and "wake up call"

If you were expecting a totally new sound from rebelution with very different sounding rhythms and riffs, then you will be dissapointed. Bright Side of Life is like a continuation of Courage to Grow. To me that's a great thing as I loved the first cd. Also its good to mix your music in playlists anyways.
Overall I think the cd is a must buy. I think you will enjoy the new cd much better in concert when you are dancing or jammin with others to the music.

Other bands you might want to check out are elan, tribal seeds, outlaw nation, stephen marley, jah roots, ky-mani marley, tarrus riley, morgan heritage, soldiers of jah army, pepper, groundation, fiji, katchafire, and collie buddz. Also dont forget to listen to older reggae such as the gladiators, bob marley, abyssinians, don carlos, gregory isaacs, the wailers and more. Hope this review helped.
DISAPPPOINTED

Never listened to these guys, but I like Sublime, Slightly Stoopid, Expendables, Long Beach Dub etc. This was very corporate self serving boring redundant throw up.
Why did he do this?

I am a huge Rebelution supporter. These tracks are all so thought out with no feeling. Their first album made sense. Every new track sounded like it belonged to something that had no business in their cali reggae style. These new tracks are all over the place. It sounded like some cheap band from st lucia dubbed each track and rachmany just gave up. I am very sad these guys dropped this bad of an album. I thought with their success from the first album that they would kill their sophomore album. I don't want to tell em how to make music, but guys, c'mon, look at "running" and "nightcrawler" from your last album. That's how you do it. "Too Rude" is a joke. The only song I can listen to is lazy afternoon and maybe moonlight. Fix it soon or lose your original fan base.
