Third time around, it's a pleaser! Submitted on: 2009-11-18 |

| Great Album, with a bit more instrumental and mellow sound which is nice to listen to. I first heard As Tall As Lions listening to "A Song For Luna" which is on their second album and became hooked. What drew me to this band was their awesome vocals, which to me sounds a little soulful. Aside from that, "You Can't Take It With You" will be a great listen and if you're already a fan you will not be disappointed. |

ATAL Do It Again Submitted on: 2009-11-17 |

| I don't know how they do it, but As Tall As Lions manage to set the bar higher with every release. You Can't Take It With You is a mature progression from their previous two albums that any fan of the band will love. The album has a wide variety of songs to appease any ears. There are more ambient, "dreamier" songs (Circles, the title track, and Sleepyhead), a jazzy number (We's Been Waiting) and "classic" ATAL songs (Go Easy, In Case of Rapture, The Narrows). Even though the album has a mix of upbeat and mellow songs, it still flows beautifully. Dan's vocals are, as always, absolutely amazing, and it's nice to hear bassist Julio and guitarist Saen singing lead vocals on some tracks. Everyone in the band stepped up their game, creating one of the best albums of 2009. Check this album out, it will not disappoint. |

I've been following this band for years now, and what always amazes me is how they find ways to not only evolve as a band in a vacuum, but seemingly manipulate the stream of artistic creativity itself. It's almost as though they rotate the art of soundmaking around themselves, playing with the colors of the noise and pinpricking the tapestry of musical legacy into a soundstudded starscape. Each track on this album flows flawlessly into the next, and the effect is truly ethereal.
If you want to listen to an album that commands attention while adhering perfectly to the needs of your day, this is the one. I really like it. |

| With their newest album, As Tall As Lions does not disappoint. Their music continues to get even better. If you have been a fan of ATAL then there is no reason why you shouldn't buy this album. If you have never listened to them before, this is a great CD to pick up and you will probably ended up getting all their other music. Every song is unique and enjoyable, but my favorites are "Circles" and "Lost My Mind." |
