7 years off didn't really hurt them at all. Not as brazen & frosty as they used to be, this is a good combo of Sons Of Northern Darkness, At The Heart of Winter & everything else this band represents.
The songwriting is awesome. Guitar playing is quite a great mix of riffs, melody & atmosphere. I just cannot find anything here not to like. Every tune slays, Hordes to War, Arctic Swarm, & title track are my favorites (today) & that changes weekly, always a sign of a great album. |

| I bought this album and put it in my car stereo and cranked it that first song is great it's so epic this is by far their best album and I didn't think anything could top Sons Of northern darkness thay do not make a bad album pick this up they are the best in their genre can't waitb to see them in concert |

| This is an awesome album and what black metal/Immortal is all about. Thundering riffs, lightning fast pounding drums and great lyrics/vox. Immortal always makes great music and the lyrics always make you feel like your up top of that vast mountain or glacier or in the war with them. Very great atmosphere. Awesome band, great comeback album! Can't wait to see these guys live! |
