He's back! Submitted on: 2009-11-20 |

| It seems like a long time since Lyle Lovett put out an album but "Natural Forces" is worth the wait. This album is a mix of some original Lyle Lovett songs as well as some from his fellow Texas songwriters. The title song, Natural Forces, explains a cowboy's wandering ways. The song "It's Rock and Roll" is a jaded but probably accurate view of the music industry. His cover of the Townes Van Zandt song, Loretta, is the best I've heard. One of the best things about "Natural Forces" is the musicians - the acoustic version of "Pantry" (featuring Sam Bush on mandolin) is wonderful. |

A little bit of everything from Lyle Submitted on: 2009-11-18 |
|
| I've been a Lyle Lovett fan since Pontiac and it's been exciting to watch him evolve as an artist. His latest release, Natural Forces, offers up a little bit of everything. From the tongue-in-cheek "Choke My Chicken" and "Keep it in the Pantry" to the awesomely beautiful title track. In fact, "Natural Forces" is worth the price of the entire CD. While this is not an instant classic as some of his past efforts, it's entertaining and simply good music. |

I am biased Submitted on: 2009-11-16 |

| I am very biased toward Lyle, I have seen him live 6 times, including two weeks ago. I enjoyed this album much more than his last. This is a return for me to some of his great song writing, the fun, rocking and amusing "Framer Brown" or "Pantry" to music that just carries me away on its tune, "Whooping Crane". His band is amazing and talented, this is album to just sit back and sink into. |

Give this album a listen Submitted on: 2009-11-14 |

| Lyle's new album is reminiscent of some of his past work but adds a feeling that an artist can only achieve with age and experience. You still get his trademark voice and sound but a list of new songs and a killer band that keeps it tight all the way to the end. Wonderful album and beautiful artwork on the cover and sleeve, definitely a must have for any Lyle fan. Natural Forces is just the next step in Mr. Lovett's journey and will keep me content until he takes his next. |

Alternate Listening Pleasure Submitted on: 2009-11-04 |
|
| Lyle Lovett is the king of alternate music. Who better can combine country, pop, blues, big band and rock music successful? Lyle does it all and more on "Natural Forces". The two outstanding songs on this collection are "Farmer Brown/The Chicken Reel" and "Pantry". Both songs will have you singing along and dancing in your living room. That does not mean that Lyle cannot turn serious as he does on the haunting "Bayou Song" and "Don't You Think I Feel It Too". This CD is worthy of several Grammy nominations and I think Lyle should get his acceptance speech prepared! |
