I like Neil, but jeesh what has happened? Submitted on: 2009-11-20 |

I was listening to the title cut of A Cherry Cherry Christmas and I was embarassed for Neil (and I like his old music). What poorly written lyrics, it sounds like something that maybe an elementary school student could have composed. Predictable, pedantic lyrical direction and rhyme scheme that practically hits you over your head.
Maybe some songwriters eventually exhaust their ability to write compelling music and lyrics. Not that Neil was ever a gifted lyricist, but with his simplistic style he was still able to create compelling tunes with his voice and the music.
Everything on this album is just so derivative. |

The man does it again! Submitted on: 2009-11-14 |

| This is the best of Neil's Christmas albums by far. His new tracks are great, especially the first track, where has cleverly woven in titles of his songs into the lyrics. His rendition of 'Amazing Grace' is quite moving, and the Chanukkah Song is hilarious. Keep at it, Neil! |

Another Hit from Neil Submitted on: 2009-11-09 |
|
| Neil Diamond wrote a Christmas song that refers to many of his hits. It was a very clever use of his songs. There are new holiday songs that aren't on his other Christmas CDs. |

Embarrassingly Bad! Submitted on: 2009-11-09 |

| Absolutely one of the worst Christmas recordings I've ever heard. Can't imagine what motivated Diamond to release such a pile of camel dung. |
