Is it as good as it used to be? Probably not. Lots of changed in the last several years, not just the size, but it's still a great place to find out about new music you never would otherwise and get great interviews that blogs and other new media only dream of. | | | | Not what it used to be . . . but I still like it. Submitted on: 2009-10-15 | | | Rolling Stone has definitely declined over the years. At one time it was the end all and be all of music. The ultimate coverage - as well as the place people went to find out about new music. Nowadays it seems to cover as much bubblegum pop to please the masses - including the Jonas Brothers & Miley Cyrus on its covers. If you want real music coverage that challenges your musical intellect & seems to not be influenced by the mainstream media outlets nearly as much, I recommend Spin. But if you're simply looking for another music-based magazine . . . go for it. The price is right. | | | | Fast Delivery Submitted on: 2009-10-14 | | | I was impressed by how quickly my subscription started. Interesting magazine. New size is a positive feature. | | | | The #1 magazine for accurate political reporting Submitted on: 2009-10-11 | | | Matt Taibbi is the only reason I started to subscribe to this magazine. Do they talk about teeny bopper douchey bands and Britney and Paris Hilton too much? Yes. But the insight and accuracy in reporting from Taibbi is worth its weight in gold in today's B.S. mass media with lies all over the place. I recommend anyone to read his columns for a few issues and make your judgement. | | | |
