This is Cafe Tacuba's first album and the one that put them on the map, and not just in "rock en español" circles. Straight out of the gate they show as much allegiance to the mosh pit as to their Mexican roots, but it is the clever blending of the two that gives them such appeal on both sides of the border. Sometimes irreverent and humorous, this five-piece outfit comes on at times like Madness in sombreros, while at other times they tackle ballads, norteños, and straight pop ditties. Underlying it all is a cultural edge and awareness in their music that demands serious attention, albeit not at the expense of having a really good time. As part of the celebration of their 20 year musical career Warner Music is re-releasing one of the rare albums of Café Tacuba - Yo Soy. Originally only offered as part of a double disk package, Yo Soy is now available for the first time as a single disk. Said to be a collection of songs that the band compiled between recording other albums, Yo Soy is considered by some to be the artistic pinnacle of the band's music. Winning the Latin Grammy for Best Rock Album in 2000 this great band and historic album should be part of every Latin music collection.

CAFE TACUBA ¨SINO¨

The most notorious Mexican alternative rock group, MTV Unplugged album recorded in 1995. Cafe Tacvba, was the first Latin rock group to ever record an MTV Unplugged series. The CD/DVD combo is in a 5.1 format. This collectible edition includes a bonus track entitled "Una Manana", not included in the original programmed version, and behind the scenes plus footage of this historical event. These releases were produced by Gustavo Santaolalla and Alejandro Pels.
