Harrison, a United States Army captain, was nicknamed Captain Hollywood, because he danced even when in uniform. He first started in the break dance scene in Europe as he performed on early '80s music TV shows such as Formel Eins. He was featured in German cult movies and represented Germany at the Cannes Film Festival for the premier of the break dance movie Beat Street . From 1985 to 1987 Tony started producing his own music, releasing his first 3 singles and an album as Captain Hollywood. During this time he also collaborated with C.C. Catch as her back up singer, rapper, and dancer.
Twenty 4 Seven
Harrison has also worked together with a Netherlands|Dutch producer Ruud van Rijen and rapper Recardo-MC Fixx IT . Together they created the Netherlands-based project Twenty 4 Seven . Harrison was the head and leader of the band featuring his close friends and partners Hanks/Jacks and the Dutch singer Nance Coolen . Together they toured with MTV Europe for 3 months. Hanks and Jacks were with Tony for many years in Germany before Twenty 4 Seven, they both helped him to learn the German language and he trained them to become professional artists in the music industry.
Origins
After the release of Twenty 4 Seven's debut album Street Moves in late 1990 and having taken it to top 5 chart positions in Europe and Great Britain , Tony left the group to return to his own solo project in Germany . He released a solo album titled Love Is Not Sex soon after which charted in the Top 10 all over the world including the United States . It was followed by two Single (music)|singles , the title track 'More and More' and 'All I Want'. In 1992 he worked with production team DMP, consisting (amongst others) of Manfred Eisele (stage name: Attack II ), Jόrgen "Nosie" Katzmann, Thorsten Adler, and Tom Keil to produce tracks for the next album Captain Hollywood Project. Tony worked with many different vocalists including his main singer Petra Speigal, and Nina Gerhard , the singer of the chorus of the first released single More and More . Tony then dedicated the name suffix "Project" to his dancers. His new style was given the name "The Crew Lock", a mix out of military movement and locking.
Animals or Human sold over 300,000 copies in Germany alone and another 350,000 copies in France.
