Artist Biography

Award Winning Canadian Singer/Songwriter Carol Lynn Friesen is keeping busy leaving her mark on the music industry with the release of her 4th album, "Seize The Day". This is a Celtic Pop Worship Album of 11 original songs and all original arrangements Produced by Craig Learmont and mastered at Metalworks. This is her first album with an original instrumental called, "Burlington Circle". “You Make Me Smile” is her 3rd album with 10 songs that includes 5 original songs that she wrote & co-wrote including the title track, “You Make Me Smile”. In addition, she recorded songs written by Patricia Conroy, Michelle Wright, Noah Gordon, Dean McTaggart, Amanda Stott. Her first 2 albums were very successful with original Inspirational Pop songs. She received a National nomination from the Canadian Gospel People’s Choice Awards as “New Emerging Gospel Artist” for her 2nd album, “Heartprints of Love” and showcased at the 2003 Vibe Awards. In 1999 she released her debut CD, “Time and Eternity” and for the first time received National recognition with three nominations by the CGMA (Canadian Gospel Music Association). This was followed by seven nominations at the 1999 A.R.I.A (Alberta Recording Industry Association) Awards where she showcased and won “Gospel Artist of the Year”. She was just recently nominated for "Country/Bluegrass SONG of the Year" at the 2006 Covenant Awards [Gospel Music Awards Canada] for an original song she wrote called, "YOU MAKE ME SMILE" ! At a press conference for the 2007 SHAI Awards today, it was announced that Carol Lynn has been nominated in the top 5 in Canada for "Country ALBUM of the Year" for her album, "You Make Me Smile"
