Review of On The Shore |

This is Acoustic-Celt with some of the best instrumentals, traditional arrangements, and original tunes I've come across in a long while with accordion, fiddle, keyboards, flute, tin whistle, guitar and drums. If you took Gaelic Storm and The Glengarry Bhoys and put them in a blender... you'd have a drink made in Dhuy, Belgium that would go down smooth that never leaves a bad taste in your mouth and call it Ceili Moss. Although Celili Law tends to come off more of a Acoustic-Celt band that plays from time to time Celtic-Rock.... this band of eight's strength is both their original sound and materful instrumentation on their release "On The Shore". Ceili Moss has a knack of making great music that would find a home in almost any pub. I do feel that when some call them "The Belgium Pogues"... I laugh, because if you could keep the Pogues sober enough to make music like this.... then maybe... but I say that Ceili Moss is one fine Acoustic-Celt upbeat Trad. band with some of the best musicians from Belgium all in one group. Highlights on this disc would have to be "E411", "Miss Walsh's Fancy/Be Easy Rogue" both amazing instrumentals, and a well crafted original track within "Emerald". If you're interested in The Glengarry Bhoys, early Gaelic Storm, or just some good Trad to add to your collection, "On The Shore" will be a good disc to pick up.
