The C.E.S. Crew (Crimson Eye Society, pronounced "sess cru") is a hip-hop group consisting of three emcees and their producer; hailing from Tampa Bay, Florida. The emcees; Soni Chiefa, Slick Worthington, RahSkilz, and producer Aknocka have all been friends since childhood. The CES's sound can be described as underground hip-hop with some hardcore rap undertones and their music has been compared to the Alkaholiks, De La Soul, and even the Goodie Mob with an up north feel.
The group's began around 2002 when longtime friends Aknocka and Soni Chiefa collaborated on their first demo LP 40's & Blunts, which was released as an independent project in Charlotte, NC. In 2003 the duo was joined by RahSkilz and began work on their sophomore LP Hen & Dro. In 2004 the trio moved to Tampa Bay, Florida and reunited with Slick Worthington, the fourth member of the CES. Slick had been busy the passed years developing his weekly hip-hop radio show on 1520am Hawk Radio (Hillsborough Community College), and through his networking had created a local fanbase. The C.E.S. quickly finished work on their third LP the C.E.S. Crew Demo 2005 and released it at the 2nd Annual Tampa Music Conference presented by Benton Records in June of 2005.
The lead single "It'll Be Alright" off the CES Crew Demo 2005 was featured on the 2nd Annual Tampa Music Conference Compilation Album, distributed to all who attended the conference. CES just dropped their fourth release Cessions: Vol. 1 Mixtape.
