Artist Biography

Cliff Dawe Is a “Traditional Country,Hard Country Music,” artist who now resides in the city of Winnipeg, Canada during summer months and Brownsville, Texas in winter.
He had been sidelined by cancer and all the therapy that goes with it, however, he has successfully brought it to remission and is now out of the danger zone!

Cliff will have to follow a ten year Protocol and therapy procedures, but at the same time he will be able to create his music!

Cliff''s band responsibilities are Lead vocalist, rhythm guitar player and leader of Little Big Band, along with his counterpart Anna Perreault played bar, lounge, cabaret, fair and rodeo venues throughout Canada, lately he has expanded into the USA and the Rio Grande Valley area of southern Texas.

They started their band in August of 1988 and there were changes throughout the years but, Cliff continued on with his music!

Cliff is an independent artist who came close to being signed with Warner Brothers ( Canada ) and was offered a deal by Comstock Record's executive Frank Fara of Scottsdale, Arizona whereby a mutual agreement couldn't be reached so the relationship didn't materialize.The same thing happened with Joey Welz of Caprice Records in Philidelphia!

Cliff has come close to reaching his goal and has seen the promised land which makes him more determined than ever to hang one on the wall and get invited to dinner! A feat that is even more difficult these days for Independent Traditional Country Singers especially on Main Stream radio, however Cliff says if he didn't succeed with Traditional Country Music he really wouldn't want to bother with the music business! For Cliff it is about the music, the art and a way of communicating and preserving a Lifestyle!

During 1990 - 1991 Cliff received extensive airplay in Europe and Canada with help from RDR Complimations promotion company out of Toronto.This time he is handling the job himself!

Presently Cliff has been gaining a lot of airplay on internet radio stations such as supercountryradio.com and live365.com country radio stations,Loud City Affiliate Radio Stations as well as many streaming websites and even on the odd Main Stream Radio station like KSEN in Montana!

Cliff being an Indie artist knows that main stream radio is pretty much regulated to big label artists so he is working hard to contribute to the popularity of Internet Radio and Videos and he shows up to perform at the "Silver Spike Saloon", in Winnipeg pretty often!

As I said previously my mission is to be able to earn a living singing and promoting, “Real Traditional Country Music” or what I call, “Hard Country Music,” so as to separate any confusion between my style of music and what is referred to as,”New Country” and “Pop Country” or the hoity-toity style of “Poptry” Music!

Folks when main stream television and radio say, not exactly your dad’s Country Music when speaking of “New Country”, I’ve got news for them I loved my dad’s, “Real Country and Old Time Music,”and even had the chance, thank God, to play some of it with him before he passed on!

The music business has given me many challenges in my life – auditions, getting good bookings, acquiring play listings and airplay of my music, marital splits, loss of relationships that have gone astray that I regret deeply, the cancer thing that was a severe blow to me, having dropped me out of the music business while I was undergoing therapy for over two tears and now I still have much credibility to regain and catch up! However, the Lord, my doctors, my family and I drove the cancer into remission, so I have plenty to be Thankful for!
Hopefully I will be able to retire from the music business one day with peace of mind knowing that I did the very best I could!
This sometimes wonderful, at times curse of an obsession of the music in me that I have carried for a lifetime is definitely a mountain that has ever offered me huge challenges!
I guess that is what keeps moving me forward and my heart beating, one step, one beat, one day at a time, as I love this “handsome beast” called music and still after all this time I am in awe of and perplexed by just what it is that causes me to love it so much!
