The Neptune Pink Floyd album Double Core has been released to Artistopia after the two-channel album tracks have been mastered and sweetened for limited distribution.
After hearing about rumors of a new Pink Floyd album release a short while ago, Neptune Pink Floyd, one of the biggest and most respected online Pink Floyd fan communities, decided to do a tribute concept album. It was named Double Core, after the rumored new Pink Floyd album title.
10 original songs were composed and performed by members of the NPF community as a tribute to follow up their much acclaimed three CD set of Pink Floyd covers, called None Of Us Is Pink, which was released a year before.
Sean Ellis, a long standing member of the NPF community, managed the project and compiled the songs, cross fading them into one continuous piece. The album was released online throughout the Pink Floyd fan community in mid-2007 to wonderful reviews and deemed a fitting tribute. A custom album booklet, containing original photographs and credits, was released with the album in PDF format.
In late 2007, Coldiron Fusion was asked to master the album for limited distribution and exposure to a wider audience outside of the Pink Floyd fan communities.
The 10 CD quality tracks were mastered and equalized to bring out the most of each performance that was possible, from the highest highs to the lowest basses.
So join us in revealing to the independent music world here on Artistopia this wonderful tribute compilation! We hope you enjoy it and we look forward to your comments!
