After the breakup of Odds in 1999, Northey has embarked on several other ventures, including working with Colin James , Rosanne Cash , Glen Phillips , Bruce McCulloch and many others. He also released a solo CD entitled Giddy Up in addition to producing a CD with Jesse Valenzuela as Northey Valenzuela, and '' Stripper's Union Local 518 '' with Stripper's Union . He co-wrote the theme for Corner Gas with Valenzuela.
Currently Northey is part of the The New Odds, along with Murray Atkinson, Doug Elliott (musician)|Doug Elliott and Pat Steward .

"Write It in Lightning" was written for The Who , who bought the rights to record the song; however, the song remains unreleased by The Who. It was released by The New Odds on their 2008 album Cheerleader .
Northey cowrote "Not a lot goin' on" and wrote "My Happy Place", respectively the opening and closing theme songs for the former Canadian television series Corner Gas .
