"John Boydston - aka Daddy A Go Go - is one rockin' pop, and he proves it again on his latest CD, Eat Every Bean and Pea On Your Plate. Boydston sprinkles solid fatherly advice throughout, including the nutritional urgings of the title track, the anti-cell phone `Hang Up and Drive,' and the chin-up sentiments of `Cryin' in the Dugout.' But it's his unreconstructed rock `n' roll soul that makes Daddy a Go Go such a blast to listen to. " -- Moira McCormick, FamilyFun Magazine
FROM PARENT WORLD MAGAZINE - "Daddy a Go Go is, in fact, John Boydston, and his music is plain old incredible. Not only does Boydston write and sing his own songs, but the guy really knows how to rock! Eat Every Bean and Pea on Your Plate is the fifth CD from this Atlanta-based dad and musician. Dads everywhere won't mind popping this in the CD player when the kids are in-tow. An exceptional round-up of tunes, outstanding is the hilarious toddler tribute, "For Those About to Walk, We Salute You!" -- June 2006

Album Summary
Daddy A Go Go's new CD ROCK OF ALL AGES is another colorful 12-song blast of rock and roll fun for kids ages 3 and up. It rocks, then it rolls, then it rocks again. And be prepared to smile and laugh a bit along the way. Check out some of the great reviews on this new CD: In a round-up of 2008 CDs for kids called 'Children's Music Enters the Next Generation,' The Los Angeles Times says, 'In his sixth family CD, Atlanta's John Boydston celebrates kids and classic rock with slick '60s pop references, entertaining lyrics with a froth of good-for-you messages and feel-good, sing-along bounce.' The School Library Journal declares ROCK OF ALL AGES 'a must-have for all libraries...full of good time, classic rock and roll which 'pays tribute to kids and modern family life.' And The Nashville Parentsays: Daddy A Go Go, aka John Boydston, marks his 10th anniversary of creating cool rock tunes for kids with this spectacular new CD...Daddy continues to shine with clever tunes that keep things real on the kid level, like the way the backup kids emphasize the wrong word in The Root Beer Song. Driving beats provide the perfect musical backdrop to the pure fun and silliness in some of the cuts, including 'Get Yer Yo-Yo's Out' and 'Nana-Nana Boo-Boo.' An upbeat, rockin' version of Louis Armstrong's 'What a Wonderful World' completes this must-have album for kids of any age.'
And don't forget Daddy A Go Go's previously released rock and roll for Children CDs: Eat Every Bean and Pea On Your Plate -- Named one of the TOP TEN KIDS CDs of 2006 by Amazon.com, and features 'For Those About To Walk We Salute You, It's a Kids' World,' and the flamingo tribute 'Pink Floyd Saves Hugh Manatee,' a song covered by rock great Rick Derringer in 2007.
Mojo A Go Go - Real Rock for Kids -- Parents Choice Award Winner and named one of the Top 10 Children's CD's of 2004 by Amazon.com.
Big Rock Rooster -- Family Fun Magazine: aims for the 'tweens and turns up the amps, conjuring everything from R.E.M to T-Rex, with results that ensure whole-family enjoyment.'

"Cool Songs for Cool Kids" is Daddy A Go Go's first CD and was named to Amazon.com's first ever Top 10 Best Kids Records of the Year List (1999) and continues to be a favorite among Daddy a Go Go fans. All Music Guide writes: "Cool Songs for Cool Kids is a great introduction to Daddy a Go-Go's cool sound. The title of Daddy a Go-Go's debut Cool Songs for Cool Kids tells most of the story behind the album, though it leaves out the key ingredient of its appeal: the cool dads that comprise Daddy a Go-Go. Walt Brewer and John Boydston mix elements of surf, rockabilly, bubblegum, and classic rock and playful themes into 15 fun songs for kids and parents. Rough, jangly covers of the theme songs to Scooby Doo and Speed Racer, surfy instrumentals like "The Thang From Planet Twang," and witty originals like "Dads in the Sky" and "Daddy's Diaper Blues" reflect the different sides of Daddy a Go-Go's fun, unique style." Its a kids record that doesn't talk down to kids (or to parents) and begins the Daddy a Go Go tradition of never insulting anyone's intelligence, while keeping it fun. Daddy a Go Go has 5 CD's, so check out Daddy A Go Go's other 4 CD's here at Amazon.com, starting with the 2006 release "Eat Every Bean and Pea On Your Plate," one of Amazon.com's Top 10 Best Kids CD"s of the Year Choices. Also Parents Choice Award Winner "Monkey In The Middle," which was also named to Amazon.com's Top 10 Best Kids Records of the Year in 2000. "Big Rock Rooster" expands Daddy a Go Go's notion of rock and roll for the family with rom covers of Allan Sherman's "Hello Muddah,Hello Faddah" and a punchy version of "Come On Get Happy", to fun clever originals like "I Wanna Be An Action Figure" and "I Think I Might Be a Dog." And in 2004 Daddy A Go Go won a 2nd Parents Choice Award with "Mojo A Go Go - Real Rock For Kids" CD, which was again named to Amazon.com's Top 10 Best Kids CD's The Year List. Daddy A Go Go's 2006 release "Eat Every Bean and Pea On Your Plate" features cool rockers like the title track, and "For Those About To Walk (We Salute You), Cryin' in the Dugout, and Pink Floyd Saves Hugh Manatee," and was named to Amazon.com's Top 10 Best Kids CD's of 2006 List. And Daddy a Go Go's newest release "Rock of All Ages" is also on Amazon's 2008 Best of Year List. Dads raised on the Beatles, the Stones, and old rockabilly and surf licks don't fade away or burn out, they just plug in and rock their kids. On Monkey in the Middle, daddy-o supreme John Boydston, his good buddies, and occasionally his children conspire to dish out melodically memorable pop-rock tunes that are as smart as they are kid- and adult-friendly. While Boydston can't decide whether he wants to be Buddy Holly, Brian Wilson from his "Surfer Girl" period, or Mick Jagger, in the end it doesn't matter since Boydston writes, plays, and emotes with enough panache and rock-history knowledge to bring a smile to even the most jaded rock fan. Dig the musical allusions and jangly guitars sprinkled throughout the 15-song disc, whether it's the "Jumpin' Jack Flash"-like backups that pepper "Thank the Farmer" or the hip instrumental, "Got Milk (If You Want It)." With covers of the "Theme from The Courtship of Eddie's Father" or a tasty remake of the Vaselines' "Molly's Lips" (called "Mommy's Lips"), Daddy A Go Go proves that good taste, creative ingenuity, and good times are a rock legacy every kid deserves to get from a rock-savvy father.
