David Charvet (born David Franck Guez; May 15, 1972) is a French singer and actor.
BiographyPersonal lifeCharvet was born in Lyon, France. Charvet's father is the Tunisian-born Jewish businessman Paul Guez. David Charvet's mother, Christiane Charvet, is French. He and his siblings grew up speaking French as their first language. He won a green card through the "Morrison visa lottery" in the early 1990s. Until recently Charvet lived in his native France, where he also tours (among other parts of Europe) as a singer. He occasionally appears (as himself) on French television.
Charvet became engaged to Brooke Burke in 2006. They have two children together: a daughter, Heaven Rain (born January 8, 2007) and a son, Shaya Braven (born March 5, 2008). They currently reside in California.
CareerCharvet (as he became known, apparently using his mother's maiden name as his professional name) caught his big break in 1992 on Baywatch as "Matt Brody" and remained with the show for three full seasons, until 1995. Charvet also appeared as "Craig Field" on Melrose Place from 1996 to 1998. From 1995 to 1999, he appeared in Seduced and Betrayed,
Derby, Angel Flight Down and Meet Prince Charming. He left acting in 1999 to concentrate on his musical career.
In 2006, he returned to acting in a movie directed by Roger Christian called Prisoners of the Sun, due for release in 2009
. He is also going to appear in the film Green Flash and Nephilim as well as on ABC's 2009 summer reality show Superstars.
Green Flash is set to be released in the US on July 14, 2009 as Beach Kings.
