From Kinky Friedman the gubernatorial candidate to Leslie the thong-wearing street ‘tard, Austin’ uniqueness shines bright above the Lone Star State. The key to this one-of-a-kind city is its music. I’ve seen everything from death metal to jazz in one weekend, and this is just the beginning, kiddies… Momo’s on 6th Street was ground zero for the music explosion that happened this weekend. We started off the three-day weekend with a rock solid perfomance by David Ray Reed and his band whom were showing their southern rock and Americana roots when they came to the stage next. David’s vocals were solid and the band fits his sound like a glove on a hand, This was a great show and a flawless performance. Christmas in Texas, and Donations For Fisher House. When I did the Fox Morning show in Austin, They asked me to write and perform a Christmas Song for their Christmas special. I did just that The tune is, CHRISTMAS IN TEXAS, I self produced this about and for the Parents and loved ones of our Troops in two war torn areas of our world... and for the troops themselves to let them know we love and miss them. Please Come Home Soon Please Come Home SAFE. Thirty Percent of All Proceeds are to be Donated to Fischer House to help the Families of our Injured Heros.Hopefully Before and after Christmas... As a 100% Permanently and totally disabled Veteran with PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder), I see the trouble and extreme pain of these brave young People who serve and have served this great nation of ours... I have spent many a day with some of these heros who sacrafice, and have sacraficed thier well being to serve our country. I myself have to go to the V.A. every month for my therapy, and I spend time trying to share hope with these wonderfull folks. The transition they face is a very hard and extreme change from what they have dealt with, to what they deal with comming home. This wonderfull project, I and the Heros I speak to all conclude that this can help ease some of the transitional pain they face on a daily basis. The ones who are on leave from both fronts I have spent time with, make the same conclusion. Without your Help AMERICA It cannot be done.... So please find the kindness within your hearts to give aid and comfort to our young Heros. Sincerly, David Ray Reed
