Nobody Does It Better - Love Songs of Our Generation

What happens when a "classical" instrument goes pop?

When vintage hipster David Wilson draws his bow across the strings, people stop what they're doing and listen. Wilson’s trademark sound, smooth and understated; communicates a warmth and intimacy with an ease rarely heard on violin.

Wilson has long been a favorite with legendary Hollywood entertainers such as Frank Sinatra, David Bowie, Gene Kelly, Bob Dylan, and Herb Alpert. The Christian Science Monitor proclaimed Wilson’s albums as "music to set the mood" and ranked him alongside Diana Krall, Yo-Yo Ma, and Ella Fitzgerald. Henry Mancini invited Wilson to record on two separate occasions, after discovering his talents at an event where Wilson performed. Following his collaborations with Mancini, Wilson began focusing on his own pursuits. Ten albums and just over a decade later, Wilson’s albums now approach 200,000 units in sales – a figure almost unheard of in the rarefied world of violinists - all without the help of mainstream promotion or publicity.

Wilson’s latest release Nobody Does It Better – Love Songs of Our Generation is a treasury of great love songs from the 60's and 70's. The album is a dangerously romantic collection of ballads by the Bee Gees, the Beatles, Carly Simon, Roberta Flack, Al Green, Stevie Wonder, Christopher Cross, Lionel Ritchie, and Bread. True to his talents, Wilson beautifully demonstrates the boundless capacity of this "classical" instrument to convey and enrich the beauty of these popular songs and cherished melodies.

As for his listeners? They're probably dancin' in the kitchen and lovin' the one they're with.
