The short-lived but successful Electric Flag was formed in 1967 by America s finest white blues guitarist Mike Bloomfield. The innovative idea was to meld hard rock with big band brass arrangements. Bloomfield drew in a collection of seasoned professionals from some of America s most successful bands including drummer Buddy Miles who went onto play with Jimi Hendrix in Band of Gypsies.
