I actually did 3 voice parts: a child, an elder, and a comedian. After the main dialogue occured, all of the artists recorded a song to go along with the 'audio skit'.

Sang my song "Prettybrown" from my second album also entitled "Prettybrown". The concert and award event was an initiative fronted by The Honourable Hedy Fry. A multicultural campaign to eliminate racism. Other performers were: The Matthew Good Band, Chantal Kreviazuk, the Rascals, The Toronto cast of RENT, and so many more. Prince Charles was in attendance, and it was a wonderful experience to see people of all colours uniting. The show was taped by MuchMusic and aired nationally in Canada.

Henry sent me a rough music sample, and i set to work creating a set of lyrics and a melody to go along with his arrangement. Turned out to be a fun, and fancy free jazzy, r&b track. We called it, "When you're dancing" and the original song appears on his 2000 release of "Looking Back". Henry spent a large number of years backing up well-known singer, Nina Simone.

It also happened that some of the cast of Gilligan's Island was volunteering her time to raise money for the Variety Club Telethon for children with disabilities. Another guest on the show was the famous, and downright legendary Mr Ray Charles. That was a cool moment.

Since it was also Alcohol Awareness week, i gave a presentation regarding awareness of the effects of alcohol on First Nations youth, my own experiences with alcohol and my choice to turn to my culture and native spirituality as a positive solution to overcoming personal/social problems.

The musical arrangement and the instrumentation on this song soars!!

Along with four other artists, we sang a medley of Buffy's songs as a tribute to her outstanding career achievements. She was honoured with a lifetime achievement award that year on the show. The stage was fabulous, and Graham Greene and Tom Jackson hosted the show that year.

Well he got bookings all over the place, and from time to time would invite me to perform as part of the act. It was great because I got to play and have fun, and do a sort of "Billy Holiday" jazz singer thing.

This was really wonderful. Putting ones heart and soul into music. Music that involves a faith with the motivation to uplift the people usually comes from the heart, and is meant to give you chills and move you. Well i got to express myself and sing my heart out as part of this gospel choir. I was selected to be one of the main soloists. Great people, great leader, great memories. Our choir put on many different shows for the people, of which some were televised.

The song features First Nations artists and Inuit singers: Willie Dunn, Susan Aglukark, Don Ross, Shingoose, Fara Palmer and Sylvie Bernard.
