2011 album from the Canadian singer/songwriter. Metals is the follow-up to her 2007 breakout The Reminder. Recorded in Big Sur, California, Feist co-produced the album with longtime collaborators Chilly Gonzales and Mocky, as well as newcomer Valgeir Sigurdsson (Bjork, Bonnie "Prince" Billy) Metals will mark Feist's celebratory return to the world stage. Like The Reminder, this album is astoundingly intimate, yet often exuberant; rife with transcendent and unforgettable pop gems. The album is being teased with 12 unique vignettes, each hinting at a different element of this stunningly beautiful, sublime record.

2007 album which was written and conceptualised during 33 months of touring and was recorded in just 2 weeks in a 200 year old manor house on the outskirts of Paris with players including Gonzales, Jamie Lidell, Mocky and Erik Glambek Boe [Kings Of Convenience], and includes 'My Moon My Man', with it's sucker-punch melody tumbling over hard-soul piano chords and live favourite 'Sea Lion Woman'. Feist is a Canadian songstress, hailing from Toronto. Her first album 'Let It Die', is produced by Renaud Letang & Gonzales. Feist has been Gonzales' fellow for years. Part of the Canadian collective band, Broken Social Scene, Gonzales convinced her to come to Paris to record this first album. The journey started in an out of time, out of norm atmosphere, whose lush grooves are offset by a thoroughly enjoyable live performance, with members of the Germany via Toronto Kitty-Yo crew such as Peaches, Gonzales, & Taylor Savvy. Leslie Feist has firmly planted her flag in the new continent of Whisper-Rock. Believe! Repetition and dynamics can become static fields where the slightest changes and nuances stand out. Feist's songs mix together sparse, stripped down guitars, soberingly personal vocals, melodica, a varied backbone of rhythm and lyrically portent storytelling twisted into odd timings. Simple! Made famous in 1983 as a duet by Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton, this was originally written by the Bee Gees. A favorite of Constantines & Feist,the song was recorded in Toronto one day in early February following a game of ice hockey and a round of hot chocolates. Their decelerated and ntimate version was produced by Jeff McMurrich, who also worked with Constantines on their new album, Kensington Heights.
