With 25 tracks, this CD is the most complete Frankie Avalon compilation ever and features several highly sought after tracks, including two songs from Beach Party, the theme song 'Beach Party' and 'Don't Stop Now' (the first movie in the series that starred Frankie and Annette). Both tracks make their first appearance on CD. 2002.
Frankie's late-'50s/early-'60s recordings practically define an era in pop music. But while there have been countless reissues of his much-loved Chancellor hits, his later recordings have had sand kicked in their face when it comes to the CD era...including many performances that offer solid evidence of Frankie's blossoming maturity as a vocalist. That's why Real Gone Music is releasing Frankie Avalon: Muscle Beach Party--The United Artists Sessions -- 20 tracks recorded in 1964 and 1965. The centerpiece of the set is Frankie's album, Muscle Beach Party and Other Movie Songs, which features fresh versions of songs from Beach Party and Muscle Beach Party films (notably, a dynamite version of "Runnin' Wild," his spotlight solo in the latter movie) and superb renditions of "Days of Wine and Roses," "Moon River" and other Hollywood standards, all in stereo. In addition, we've included his rare UA singles -- "New Fangled, Jingle Jangle Swimming Suit from Paris," "Here to Stay," "Don't Make Fun of Me" and "Every Girl Should Get Married" -- plus his tracks from the soundtrack of I'll Take Sweden, a Bob Hope comedy in which Frankie co-starred. The missing piece of Frankie's recording legacy, with notes and photos!
Subtitled 'Early Albums, Hit Singles, Plus Rare First Recordings'. Includes the albums 'Frankie Avalon' (mono), 'Young Frankie Avalon' (stereo), 'Swingin' On A Rainbow' (stereo), the rare early A-side tracks 'Trumpet Sorrento', and 'Trumpet Tarantella', along with all the hit singles with 'Venus', 'Bobby Sox To Stockings', 'Why', 'A Boy Without A Girl', and more.
Frankie Avalon was an international teen idol who bridged the gap between Elvis and The Beatles. Features his first five albums: Frankie Avalon, The Young Frankie, Swingin on a Rainbow, The Hit Makers & Summer Scene as they were originally recorded. This is the first time the albums have appeared on one CD set together and includes all his greatest hits, De De Dinah, Venus and Why.

Album Summary
When Frankie Avalon emerged on the Chancellor Records label towards the end of the 1950s, the general impression was that he was a manufactured star, little more than a vehicle for label head Bob Marcucci. When Marcucci took almost exactly the same formula and made a star out of Fabian, it was seemingly confirmation. Yet all of this rather overlooked the fact that Frankie had been appearing on US television since the age of 12 and had performed with Bobby Rydell long before he launched a solo career. Manufactured or not, his record of 31 US chart hits between 1958 and 1962 is an impressive one, even more so when his two number one's are taken into consideration. This album is therefore a celebration of one of the biggest stars of the 1950s.
