|
Singer songwriter John Backhouse is the founder member of glasswall and set up glasswall music productions in 2004. A member of the International Songwriters Association (ISA), his catelogue of songs is copyright protected. Some of his earlier compositions were broadcast on BFBS Radio in Germany & Holland. John is actively writing new songs and was interviewed by Radio Presenter Hal Stewart at Garrison FM, Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire, during November 2007 and again in July 2008, featuring some of John's latest recordings.
Artist Mission
I currently self publish my songs so that I retain full control of my catalogue of music, however, I would like to find a music publisher to promote my work, so that I can concentrate on the business of songwriting. I am always looking to collaborate with other songwriters and musicians who are interested in contributing to new songwriting projects or aspiring new artists who are keen to record and perform original material, particularly songs I have written!
Music Influences
My musical taste and influences are varied but essentially I enjoy listening to guitar based music with melodic vocal harmonies, a punchy baseline and a good drum beat. I love Rock 'n' Roll, Rythum & Blues, Mowtown, Pop and Rock. I have even been known to listen to Country and Classical music. I particularly enjoy music from the swinging 60's, such bands as the Beatles, Rolling Stones and the Who to name just a few! More recently I have been inspired by artists such as the Raconteurs, Razor Light, The Feeling, Keane, Sissor Sisters, Kooks, Snow Patrol, Kaiser Chiefs, James Blunt, James Morrison, Mika, Jack Johnson and Newton Faulkner.
