Hallucinogen is the stage name of Simon Posford (born 1971), an electronic musician specializing in Goa trance music from England. His early work was as an engineer on the T.I.P. (Raja Ram) and Dragonfly (Youth) labels.Citation needed
From then on, Posford ventured into numerous collaborations with other artists. His most notable projects involve artists such as Raja Ram on Shpongle, Martin Glover on Celtic Cross, and Prometheus (a.k.a. Benji Vaughan) and Marc Brownstein (from The Disco Biscuits) on Younger Brother. The vocalists he uses most often in his music are Michele Adamson and Abigail Gorton. He has worked outside the genre of Psytrance with the album A Valid Path by Alan Parsons.

Simon grew up in the village of Chobham, Surrey. While attending the nearby Woodcote school he played keyboards in his first band, "the Electric Light Failure". Later as a teenager he experimented extensively with home recording, first on a 4 track portastudio and later with a Tascam MSR-16 16 track recorder.

He is also the co-founder of Twisted Records with Simon Holtom (previously manager of Youth's Dragonfly label), which is one of the most influential psychedelic trance record labels.Citation needed
A track by Hallucinogen, called "Bubble n' Tweak", is featured in the Gran Turismo 4 video game.

In 2002, In Dub was released, a collection of Ott dub remixes of Hallucinogen tracks.

In recent years, Posford has fostered a close relationship with jamtronica band, The Disco Biscuits, making appearances at Camp Biscos 5, 6, 7, and 8, as well as producing tracks on The Biscuits' forthcoming album due out in 2009.Citation needed
