Album Summary
2010 album from the German Power Metal band. Founded in 1984, Helloween are pioneers in their field, and the inventors of German Melodic-Speed-Metal. 7 Sinners is the band's 15th Studio album, and is definitely one of the fastest and hardest albums in the bands history. 7 Sinners bursts with vitality, and presents sensational novelties -and still is a record in best Helloween tradition. The so-called mortal sins are the overall concept of the album. 7 Sinners plays light-heartedly with the heavy symbolism of the seven main vices. This is also a specialty of the band: touching dark themes and turning them into something constructive, owed to their positive attitude.
Digitally remastered and expanded deluxe two CD edition combines Keeper Of The Seven Keys (1987) and Keeper Of The Seven Keys, Part II (1988) plus bonus tracks. The ultimate Power Metal albums might seem like a grandiose statement to make today but it goes without saying that both Keepers albums are massively influential throughout the Heavy Metal world and remain among the greatest albums of their era. Predominantly written by lead guitarist Kai Hansen, Keepers Part I is driven along with relentless ferocity by the soaring vocals of Michael Kiske and the entire album is a tour de force of epic proportions and has become a high water mark in the pantheon of power metal. The following year Helloween released Part II in their Keepers legacy which was predominantly written by guitarist Michael Weikath after Hansen's departure.
UNARMED Best Of 25th Anniversary is Helloween's thank-you to millions of fans old and new and will prove their exceptional position on the international metal scene. Instead of putting together a regular greatest hits compilation featuring their most successful tracks to celebrate this anniversary, the five band members completely rearranged the greatest melodies they had written in the course of their career to date. The album features Supercharge s exceptional saxophonist Albie Donnelly, Hellsongs s vocalist Harriet Ohlsson, pianist Matthias Ulmer, plus the 70-piece Prague Symphonic Orchestra and the choirs of the Gregorian singers!
As a special surprise, Helloween have come up with 'The Keeper´s Trilogy,' a stunning 17-minute medley of the songs 'Halloween,' 'Keeper Of The Seven Keys,' and 'The King For A 1000 Years,' recorded in cooperation with the Prague Symphonic Orchestra and likely to send shivers of delight down the spine of every Helloween fan.
Beginning their third decade of existence, Helloween are back to conquer the Power Metal world with simply one of the best releases in their career – the spellbinding Keeper Of The Seven Keys – The Legacy!
Having repeatedly reinvented themselves stylistically, without ever losing their trademark sound, is no easy feat. The musicians, Andi Deris (vocals), Michael Weikath (guitar), Markus Großkopf (bass), Sascha Gerstner (guitar) and new addition Dani Löble (drums, ex-Rawhead Rexx), see this latest recording in direct context with their 1987 and 1988 classics, consciously and confidently increasing the expectations of their fans of an doubtlessly unusual studio offering.
