Carter says, “At Studio One the goal is to present the area’s musicians to folks that wouldn’t ordinarily get out to the clubs and venues and hear them, thereby giving our talented artists access to audiences they wouldn’t have otherwise. The hope is that individuals will discover a music genre’ that they didn’t even know they liked.” Carter and the WETS staff decided early on that the full spectrum of our region’s musical and performance arts would be tapped. By not limiting it to one particular type of music the producers have been able to air, in live performance such diverse forms as jazz, classical, old-time, bluegrass, country, Celtic, Scottish-folk, rock, blues, alternative-rock, gospel, barber-shop quartets and more.
