To cap the day of remembrance and memorial, celebrating the life of the great jazz reedman Jacques Gauthe, a late night party and jam session at Fritzels European Jazz Club will be the conclusion of a day of musical tributes to our friend and bandmate Jacques Gauthe. Following the food and music at Palm Court, at 10PM the musicians and friends will head to Fritzels to raise a toast to Jacques and then raise the roof with a jam session until the wee hours of the morning. For the better part of 30 years Jacques worked at Fritzels where he was active in spreading jazz to the world. At Fritzels Jacques was the jazz host that welcomed musicians from Europe and Asia to New Orleans. Through his kindness and generosity Jacques brought many musicians to the stage to fulfill their lifelong ambition to play on Bourbon St, the birthplace of JAZZ. Please check the events calendar under Jim and Martha Hession for the details of the activities for October 1,2007. Hope to see you there!
Fritzels European Jazz pub is located at 733 Bourbon St. in the French Quarter in New Orleans.
