| Katrina changed many lives in 2005. The musical family of the Gulf Coast running from New Orleans through Mississippi to Alabama and Florida was hit with devastation. Hundreds of musical venues were wiped off of the map. The homes of thousands of musicians were destroyed. It has been a time of sober contemplation and rededicating our lives to the music that we love and believe in. One thing that has changed has been our relationship to our work. There is now the feeling of great immediacy to all aspects of our lives. The need to work hard and produce a quantity and quality of work representative of the many musical directions that our career has taken. For the past year we have have spent many hours in a recording studio, laying down track after track of a careers worth of shared knowledge both in historical and in mainstream jazz. The fruits of our labor have thus far produced three new CD's: GIANTS OF STRIDE, PIANO POWER PLAYS and VIGNETTES! |
